  • Really not as good as Superstar Saga, but okay. If you've played SS, the Bros Attacks are gone but you now control four charcaters, which adds a lot of depth to the gameplay. The story's not as good as SS and the game is quite funny although, again, not quite as much as SS. Let's hope Mario & Luigi 3 is better.

  • Great game! Now I' into Superstar Saga. These games are not 100% turn based rpgs. I would call it 80% turn based and 20% action. This works great for me as I am kinda bored with games like final fantasy even when they look beautiful on screen.

  • This is great cause its so funny and its so entertaining.

    ITS ADDICTIVE

  • This is a fun game. The story is fine (not too shallow, even for a mario game) and the music is nice too. Especially the 'panic' music is really addictive. The interaction between the big and small brothers is also quite humorous.

    Combat is your typical Paper Mario style combat. Use attacks or special items, and use correct timing to increase damage or dodge attacks from your enemies. Badges and pants (aka armor) are there to increase the power of the brothers. Badges are nice addition, but the pants don't really add to the game in my oppinion.

    If you liked Paper Mario, you are surely going to like this game. If you hated Paper Mario, then don't bother playing this game. If you never ever player Paper Mario, then I'd say give this game a shot!

  • One of the best rpgs for ds. its not hard but still long. i liked the mario and luigi for gba more than this.

  • I love the game! The story line is fun, and adore Baby Weegee.



    However, the game freezes every time I save. Save and Quit or Save and Continue. The data saves, and the scrolling text continues going and I can move it left and right with L and R, but it won't get out of the save screen.

    I have to shut the system on and off every time I want to continue playing after a save. Has this been a problem before?

  • This Game is is fun and funny, and if you cant get it to save or it frezzes when u are playing it then take out your R4 or the game card and blow into the DS then blow on the game card and try it a second time anf if it still does not work redownload it and try that. Hope this helps.

  • This one might be better than the new one, Bowser's Inside Story. Haven't played as far into Partners in time as I have into the other, but so far it's as good at least. The baby versions team up with Mario and Luigi.

  • I loved Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga on the GBA, and this game is basically the same.

    However, in a continuing trend of (personally) disliking sequals, I don't like this game quite so much.

    This mainly stems from the addition of the two Baby versions of our over-all'd protagonists, and the intense complexity of the combat that stems from this. (In an effort to save face and not look like I'm *completely* crap at gaming, I'll say that the fights aren't HARD, per say, simply overly complex and annoying)

    In this game, Nintendo has attempted to recreate Superstar Saga, while utilising the aditional buttons that come with the DS, and this leads to complexity in map-movement as well as in combat. Evidently, my tiny brain is incapable of remembering that the babies have a seperate button set to the grown ups.

    However, once you get used to the new controls (and get past the annoying suitcase tutorial), you'll find Partners in Time to have the same undercurrent of manic slapstick comdey that I so loved from Superstar. The battle mechanic is the same (barring the entrance of the Babies) and the Bros. moves have been simplified to incorperate the youngsters (something I am thankfull for, as (once again) my tiny brain and unco-ordinated thumbs had REAL trouble with the Superstar combos)

    This game would rank (in my personal books, no pressure to adopt this opinion for yourself)only half a point or so below Superstar, and that is simply because I can't reflexivly control the Babies. I'm sure given enough time and patience, this could be recified, but I am impatient and sinse procuring my R4 card, I have been unable to persevere with a game that irks me, simply because it is now too easy to change games. My fickle attention span asside, I still really do like this game, and I think I'll go play it some more right now.

    But I'm having a litle problem... Every time I'm going to save, the emulator says "Rom image crashed".
    I already downloaded this game 3 times, but is always the same thing.

  • Press A AND HOLD A when loading the game until the game fully loads and it SHOULD let you save properly.

  • this game is awesome except on the r4 when you save you have to keep turning it off and back on again. it happens on my r4. but it works

  • radically different from many other mario games but I mean that in the best way possible. its a good change from the classic side scroller and DEFINATELY worth your time.
