  • This game is one of the few DS game's I really love. It's the very same Resident Evil that was released on the Playstation 1 many years ago. Capcom added some really cool features too. On some parts of the game, when you first enter a room, instead of just blasting those crazed zombies heads off, you go into first person view with your knife. Zombies come from all directions, in which you use your stylus to slash those buggers back to kingdom come. This game is a classic and a must try, so........try it!

  • Its pretty good, but I really don't know where to go in the flipin mansion. Beware--have a guide on hand when playing this.

    and the innovation of the rebirth mode is very coll.

  • One of the very few faithful ports, this one boasts everything that the PSX version has to offer, and more (i think). i'm surprised they even managed to retain the cinematics (which are quite a laugh, and which actually helps. why? because when you're tense and forced to a corner and the music is spooking you more than that big thing that's about to behead you, remembering the lousy actors kinda eases that, helps you calm your mind).

  • I seem to recall playing a Chinese version of this on a flash card with a friend, and the controls were horrible. I guess it just takes time to get used to.

  • Jaz-Kat, the packed zise is 100mb (+-) it isn't? Then it can't be 64MB, and i never saw a game with 256MB. Then it's 128MB ;D!

    this is a really good port capcom should release resident evil 2 on the ds with features like this BUT i doubt they will cos of the sales.

    I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or something, but Resident Evil 4 wasn't a first person shooter, it was played from a third person perspective.

  • I downloaded the game, and when i played it i could'nt see jill, and when a zombie came to eat me i could'nt see the zombie aswell so now im gonna download it again.

  • I effing li]ove this game! its interesting, keeps u on the edge of ur seat, its scary and u dont know whats coming up. cunning puzzles, disgusting freaks and cool weapons... i wish they release another one like it!!!

  • ..Can someone tell me how Resident Evil qualifies as "kid friendly"? It's shooting zombies and ugly monsters, with gorey bits and blood everywhere....and I remember the language being questionable at times...that's hardly for kids. .\_.

  • Well im a RE fan...but this...this is not cool...really...well is the ps1 game (1996) and...well the control is just horrible...why capcom guys didnt realise the control? And the actors....newbies XD

  • It's not that scary but it does give you the creeps and may startle you.

  • This is one of the best ports of a game from a playstation 1, It is quite large, then again most of the new games are, GTA chinatown was is also large but good.



    The game at first looks quite hard, but i guess its easier once you know where all the weapons and ammo are. Im going to give it another few goes but will probably enable the cheat mode.

  • These controls are a bit tricky to master, but it's still a great game. I love the dialouge. But the graphics are kinda crappy.

  • I gotta say this is a very good port of the original Resident Evil, I kind of like having the original spooky, but very cheesy game on the go. I also like the new features as well so that is another plus for me.

  • Fun for us veterans of the RE series, some of the stuff capcom has added in is interesting, mixes it up a bit (although I'd prefer to take my 9 or 12 gauge to those zombies, but eh, knifing them in first person was something new). I was expecting more or less a port of the old RE on the playstation so the addition of some new stuff was welcome.

    I'd recommend it to people who like the RE series, if you don't have much of a history with the old RE games you might not like it.

    im glad sumbody noticed that it wasnt a first person shooter, i was not sure, but i thought it was. i havent played it for a while, and other shooting games can throw you off... since playing 4, ive wanted 2 play a ds res. evil game

  • ive played this game like 5 times always get up to the same pint after the piano bit and it just freezes and wipes everything i dunn so i find it poinleess good game though really simple its just common sencse
