Okay guys I will tell you about Dragon quest monsters in a review type thing

So the story starts off with some spiky head kid sitting in a cell (almost like prison) Then some french dude who can't pronouce his freaking W's tell the character that his father wants to see him. After a while of poinless babble you find out that the character has repeatedly over the years tried to run away and do something called a scouting contest. Where people all around come and compeate and battle with monster for some sacred jewl or something like that and your father wants you to investagate it for some reason or another. Well that all I want to say about the story don't want to give away too much of the story.

Gameplay: For starters it not just your regular turn based rpg. There is a lot more to it than that. A lot of people say its a carbon copy of pokemon Which is kind of true but theres something that seperates this from pokemon. Well first there is the battle system. Its not just one on one or two on two (which it can be) but as you get a little further in the game its 3 on 3. You can have your monsters just attack with no type of direction they use what ever move they have at their disposeal. Which is okay for the small frys but once you get to the bosses you need to use the "Give orders." Wich is where you tell each one of your monster(s) who to attack what spells to cast and so on an so forth. This adds some spice to the allready hot chilly. Then to top it off you can customize your monsters with weapons to boost there stats you can even assign them rolls to play like if a monster has high mp make him use magic alot or if a monster has really good healing abillitys assign his a healer you get the idea. This makes you more interactive as a player. Also your yet to be named char can also learn spells and abilitys that help the team in but mostly out of the battle field. When your monsters get to a certen level they can be combined to make new monsters.

The story: Yes I covered the story this is just what I think of it.

Its bland just like pokemon your yet to be named character dosn't talk which sucks because he looks to be one plucky backtalking don't giva damn about you or your bullshit type guy. But at the same time hes got a heart and some compassion which makes him stand out from everyone else the general hero you find in games now a days.I think your yet to be named characeter not talking takes away from the story. If anything they should have added selectable di

sound and looks: The graphic aren't that great but they are good form the ds. its a 3d yes 3d open world adventure. The music is the same stuff you find in a run of the mill rpg. The battle theam is pretty catchy.

OVERALL: Even though Its sound boring and stupid its acually not bad at all. In fact it's pretty damn good. All the monster to collect the adventure itself cept me playing. In fact it has the same feel as pokemon just a wee bit more complex. So if your tired of catchin' them all put down your master balls turn your baseball cap back around and sink your teeth into this pecha berry. I am sure you will enjoy this game as much as i have

What confuses me is that on the information page, it says the filesize is 30 MB, but on my R4 it shows up as 128.

Great Game, thanks man! For cheats you just have to replace your cheat.dat file (or other) for USRcheats.dat and you have cheat codes for DQMJ.

This game is great! and for anyone that thinks this is ripped of pokemon, Think again. The first dragon quest Monster game was made before any pokemon. It was called Dragon quest monsters 1 and 2 and are for GBC(Gameboy Color) And its really fun. I play it on a lameboy emululator on my ttds and its great. Alongside i play Zelda oracle of ages/Seasons. So this game isnt rippof. Its actually a chanse that pokemon ripped this. Just some info. If u wonder. This game is just the one for the GBC just made better and given different storyline, Models instead of sprites, Etc.

This game is AWSOME! Or rather, this whole series of game is really good. It's a much deeper game then Pokémon.

And to those who says that this is a Pokémon rip off, think again. Pokémon was created in 1996, the first Deagon Quest game (called Dragon Warrior back then) was made in the middlr of the 80´s. So Pokémon was possible inspired by Dragon Quest (~maybe~, just stating the possibility), and not the other way around.

I like how this series actually managed to go from 2D into the world of 3D, unlike it's competitor Pokémon. Sure pokemon stadium for N64 was good, but it stopped there unfortunatly. DQJ actually manages to go 3D on a handheld console, and it does it well. I mentioned that this game is deep, and by that I mean strategically. Raising your monsters is so much more then just leveling them, you have to raise a good team with monsters that compliment each other, since you battle with 3 monsters at a time and you can't switch monsters in battle. Then comes the breeding, and that's the best part of the game. It just gives the game so much, and it's statisfying to be able to breed monsters that you can't find in the wild pretty early on.

Well, I won't drag on, but I really recommend this game for anyone who's a fan of monster breeding, or a fan of the DQ or the Pokémon series. If you haven't tried any game like this, THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go download now!

I downloaded the game last month and a keep playing it ever single day for about 1 to 3 weeks it is pretty fun if you like pokemon games then you would proberly like this game. the cheats for this game are great. i would give it 10/10. I highly recomend it to pokemon fans!!!
