A fairly good Strategy Role-playing game that will appeal to fans of the Super Robot Series. You play as an easily excited bug-loving boy Yamato and his typical-anime inspired female friend Tsubasa. Both children enjoy playing with bugs, which leads then to a rather strange encounter. After school both children head to their favorite place and hang out and check out bugs. While there they encounter a Rhino Beetle and Butterfly, but these are no ordinary insects! The bugs are highly intelligent aliens from another world. Unlike other bugs, these guys can talk and they need Yamato to help save their world from evil humans who command robot insectoid creatures known as Drones.

K-buto, the name of the Rhino Beetle helps transport Yamato to his world and gives him a card which lets K-buto transform into a giant Robot Rhino Beetle. Now it's up to Yamato and his friends to help save the world.

The combat in the game is your typical strategy role-playing game and I can safely say that if you've played one you've pretty much played them all. Almost all units have various firing types (guns and Melee) and some are better suited for others. When attacked you can choose to counter attack, evade, or defend. Evade is almost completely useless, even though it recommends you use Evade for quick flying units such as the Butterfly.

The game is very easy, even on hard mode and you will have no problem completing the game regardless of the difficulty ( thought some missions can be fairly hard ). Unlike some Strategy Roleplaying games you do not gain experience when/if you attack an enemy or destroy it. Instead, you and all your participating members gain EXP after the battle, including bonus EXP that you can give to a single unit. This is great because you end up with evenly leveled units rather than having one super unit and bunch of lower levels characters (such as black mages in FFA)

You don't normally gain experience in missions. To gain experience you have to participate in special battles in the badlands. There's a total of 60 different skirmishes you can compete in that offer a varying degree of difficulty. Winning these skirmishes grants you cards, experience, and weapons.

Which brings me to Cards. Cards can do multiple things to enemies during battle, basically like special attacks, but you need to find them first.

All-in-all the game is a fairly decent Strategy role-playing game with a unique style of units. It's quite entertaining to see a giant robot butterfly attack and destroy enemy robot ants or mosquitoes.

I give this game a 6/10
