  This roms need to be PATCH before it can work with flashcard mention above [without any firmware update]
  
  i tested PATCHED ROM with CycloDS, R4DS, DSTT, M3Real, EDGE without any firmware update, and it works flawlessly!

  Yeah, same, unable to load sav file on my R4, have never been able to open. I'll look into what the other posters have suggested regarding patches.
