Usually, in games like this (RPGs), grinding is necessary at times, but really, it's not meant to be a grind-fest. FF4 is just a hard game compared to most FFs. You can grind if you think that's what you're supposed to do, but it doesn't make a difference. You're supposed to use strategy (which is why every boss has some sort of weakness for you to exploit), not grind a bunch and button mash the "Attack" command.

And Wenroy, that's what the Save feature is for. You don't have to start a new game when you die, you just get a game over and have to load where you saved last.

Really though, FF4 is one of the "epic" games in the series, and with updated graphics and excellent voice-acting (still cool to hear Suzaku Kururugi as Cecil :P), it's a must-have for RPG fans.

YES!! FINALLY!! i am hoping this will the the rpg for the summer i actually have to grind a ton on and still have trouble with... i hate easy an rpg and all the reviews say this port is going to be tough. thank god.

Oh man, I'm getting all nostalgic playing this game all over again in fabulous 3D Nintendo DS glory!! I first played FF4 on the PS1 remake of the NES version, but it looked too ugly to play it, then I found out about the GBA remake and decided to have a go at it and I enjoyed it thoroughly to the end of the game. However, because the saved data was kinda on a pirated GBA cartridge for some reason the data got erased after I turned it off and took it out of my GBA SP! Up until I reached the end I didn't take it out of my SP so I guess taking it out must've erased it, but I don't regret spending my time on it because now I can blaze through the NDS remake with ease. :)

You would be crazy NOT to download this game and play because the story is just so engrossing that you just don't want to stop playing!! Not only that, the music has been remixed and it sounds fantastic.

Didn't think it would be released so quickly either. This is great. I tried out the Japanese version a while back just to get an idea of the graphics and loved it. Didn't play past the intro though. One of the greatest RPG stories ever in 3D. This is great.

Yeah those GBA carts die (the mini flash or whatever) i had two of them. There must have been an internal battery? They all crapped on me.
Thank god they found ways to flash for DS. Or not flash, hehe.

Sad for people who can't read Japs/Man, the voice acting on US version (English) is ... BAD! VERY BAD!! (Boot up Jap's and you'll feel it instantly.)

I didn't find the voice acting all that bad and I like it better than nothing at all. If you really don't like it, there is an option to turn off voices in the settings menu.
