Never play castlevania before... is it good?
Castlevania is very good i played the US version.
There any pirate protection on this?
Leonstrife_00, Of all my experience with the series in the past, which admitedly isn't as much as I'd like, there hasn't been a bad game. Maybe in comparison to other Castlevanias, but never in comparison to other franchises. Think Metoid type gameplay, but instead of a gun you have melee weapons like swords, maces etc.

I doubt it. The US and J versions didn't, so if it turns out it does, try those.

Great game, a bit challenging, can't say anything concrete though without spoiling the game.

I beat all the modes and unlock everything! try new game with hard mode lv1! that's what I call a challenge!
Jaz-kat, I meant the way a lot of people thought Dawn of Sorrow (or was it Portrait of Ruin?) was a bit of a shit CV game. Not my opinion, I loved em both :)
The castlevania games aren't that good in my opinion. I dont know why I just dont like em. I would prefer Soma Bringer 100x more than this

FantomRedux, sorry for the missunderstanding and i dont really know coz i havent played through portrit of ruin, dawn of sorrow was awsom though ^_^
This game cant be compared with other games such as metroid, because are TOTALLY different (metroid is action/adventure, Castlevania is action/gothic with a little of RPG). In my opinion this is one of the best titles of the franchises, at least i like it more than the last two (the other ones are really good, but this is the best!!!)

Leobante, Metroid and Castlevania are actually very similar in gameplay. Yes Castlevania has RPG elements thrown in, but the core gameplay is almost the same, aside from the Gun/Melee thing I mentioned before. You explore a big map, kill lots of enemies, solve puzzles, upgrade your weapons as you go along etc. I don't know if you're talking about the Prime series or the old 2D ones, but there is a reason people call this type of game "Metroidvania".

one of the most difficult castlevannia games (after bloodlines who was the most difficult but the most enjoyable, on genesis) but really good games, i recommand the others (Portrait of ruin and dawn of sorrow).
I've played my first castlevania game when I was 5...after 20 years I can still say I love The Castlevania series, though I found this one quite difficult

well,i can say this one is realy hard...i am new to Castlevania and it was realy something.I wont play it until i finish Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin (to get faimiliar with the gameplay,although i understand it is totaly different from Ecclesia).
I liked the gfx,music and sound.It looks fun but a bit strange for Castlevania,no ?
