    but still VERY good game just not THE best ds game out there as most sites say.

    the game has like a good feel to it (if that makes sense)

    eg, when youre driving the movements just feel quite good and not awkward.

  • Yeah.. finding odd things [starts with dil ends in do, and used condoms] in dumpsters, some of the scenes, and all the drugs make this NOT kid friendly... dont know how the person rating this kid friendly thinks that... fun game for mature audiences though

  • This game will have to be... THE BEST!! I mean, it's like most GTA games, but you get that kind of oomph in it. I think they did a really great job in making this game and I give it 8.5/10 Rubber Chickens (8.5/10 Stars)

  • Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars may not be like the full 3D, freeroamers that we know today. Still, GTA CW will impress those that played the old GTA Games. This game, even with the graphics and controls from the old GTA Games, still tries to stay true to the current GTA Games on market. There are plenty of side missions and subplots to do such as, homeless killing and drug trafficking, just to name a few.
    I do have some gripes about the game though.
    The frame rate of the game does not always stay at a steady 60/60, sometimes during driving (such as escaping from the police) the frame rate can slow down to a 58/60 as you will notice slight lag on the roads while driving at top speed.
    While the touch screen controls for the safe-houses and the touch screen menu during gameplay are cool looking and easy to navigate, they seems gimmicky and out of place. -I mean, try pulling out your stylus when you are in the middle of a gunfight in order to switch weapons, you could wind up not touching the desired gun in hesitation, or dropping your stylus.
    The music in the game is not CD Audio though, this is what I found most depressing about this game. There are no Radio Stations, just 4-5 different channels which all play gameboy farts for music.
    While there is some dialogue from people you attempt to kill on the streets, the story plots use the old fashioned Nintendo crap texts instead of voice talent. WOULD IT HAVE KILLED THEM TO ADD VOICEOVERS INSTEAD OF READING!?
    Overall I give this game a 3 out of 5 just for the fact that they messed up on audio dialogue and the music sucks.
    *If you plain to purchase this game* Then I would wait until it hits the bargain bins at your local game store.

  • As already noted by some - but really needs to be stressed...
    **THIS GAME IS NOT FOR KIDS OR YOUNG TEENS**

    It's all about violence, mayhem, theft, murder, drug dealing, and though the game missions have no audio - there is sexually suggestive sound bites as well as swearing from game figures while playing. And if you've ever taken the time to read the drug dealers text, they often speak of very "creative" sexual appetites. Did I mention the violence???

    That being said - this game is truly immersive, and I have played it for days (total time - not straight) and have still only gotten halfway thru the missions. This is by choice - I understand the missions can be finished quickly with some dedicated play if you don't get distracted by all the other little nuances - building a drug empire, destroying all the security cams, finding and completeing all the special jumps, collecting all the cars, buying all the properties.

    There are also (from the sounds of it) very fun multiplay options that differ from the main jist of the game - racing, defending your drug hideout, cops n robbers - but I have not yet actually tried them.

    Age disclaimer aside - if you are not going to be insulted by the lack of any moral fortitude playing this - then download it immediately!

    Benjileo: All RomUlation NDS ROMs are clean, none of them are patched. Different flash carts require different patching, so providing a patched version would be downright stupid of us.

  • hey when i played it on my edge it keeps on freezing when it say "would you like the auto save on?" i taped yes and then the whole thing freezes i tried patching with my friend but instead we killed the rom by delete it insides (I'M NOT WANTED FOR ROM MURDER) LOL anyway my friend just got a new cheat database and it had some cheat called "rom backup" it back up gta ctw so i went to gbatemp.com to find the code when i went to r4cc to add the cheat but when i checked the cheat was already there and before i deleted gta ctw i had no cheats for it so i thought if i re download it and re play it there should be some cheats for it right so any body who can help me tell me in this forum

    i think i should stop taking these pills

    I was addicted to it.... I pass it just a few days ago.
    Great game but not suitable for young kids. Theres cussing and drug dealing. As a parent, I would recommend to other parents DON'T let you kid play this game.

I played this game for a few hours and had to go and buy it because apparently, this game sold terribly (more people have downloaded it on this website alone then purchased it throughout the world). This dashes hopes of a sequel, so to support the developers, if you enjoyed this game, please consider buying it if money allows.

  • I thought this game wasn't really gonna be that good but it was an awesome game. I liked the controls they were pretty easy, not much stylus use(I think thats a good thing but some people think otherwise). Very good storyline. The only bad thing is that I thought the story was to short. It would be a wise move for the company that makes the series to make another Grand Theft Auto for DS. This game is a must have, a classic DS game

  • Okay, review three for me. GTA chinatown wars, I passed on this game for soooo long, ever since I played san andres I've HATED the GTA games with a passion. I must say this game redeems the franchise. I have played it for about six hours total, and here are my thoughts. The controls are really smooth, easy to use, and unlike some ds games that either A)forget the touch screen completely, or B)use it in excess, gives a nice combination of both. The music, is not "gameboy farts" there is admittedly a lack of vocals, and no dialogue, but all that means is mute your ds and listen to your own music, big deal. The story seems pretty regular thus far, dead dad, spoiled Triad rich kid, all the usual stuff. The selection of cars is pretty divers, and the handling is great. The graphics are quite exceptional considering the console, and dispite what I've heard, I have yet to have any camera difficulties. All in all, the game is a fun portable alternative to the GTA series, and has really great gameplay. I give it nine bags of coke outta ten. it was docked one point for lack of voice over.

  • I think I understand the 'kid friendly' rating, not from a moral stand point, honestly I think its pretty sick, but from a business point of view having a highly advertised comercial DS release as adults only would be suicide as the lionshare of the consoles are purchased for 7 to 14 year olds, and thus the games will be purchased by thier Parents. Making it seem 'nicer' than it is is probably the only way to get passed the ones who actually pay any heed to ratings (although my two cents on that subject is that ANY 'parent' who knowingly purchase/downloads illicet material for they're children, even if it is "just a game" should be draged out into the street and shot, rant over) but.. after all that, loved the game, purchased it when it came out, and now downloaded it after giving it to my unborn grandkids, to be placed in theyre hands on the moment of theyre birth, you know, its the sensible thing to do...

  • i love this game for the ds but rockstargames are making it for psp i saw the trailer its the same as for the ds the graffics are the same aswel and on the psp you don,t have a touch screen so that takes away some fun so i think the game is better on the nds then on the psp

  • i have been reading the commments and have noticed quite a few saying this is not suitable for kids. now im 13 and although there are guns, drugs etc. i don't really pay attention. the main focus goes to the addicting missions and also getting away from the cops. for me this game is more of a time waster than an actual game.

  • I got this game for my PSP, I honestly felt it was a waste of space originally on my psp, it's good but I just felt the mini games could work better on the DS... so I deleted it and came over here.

  • Yes, just search for "GTA r4 patched rom" or something like that on Google.
    Another way is to patch him by yourself, but you have to look on the forums for that.

    (after you choose your save game file slot it freezes on a black screen)
