  • Not a bad game. It's a Dragonball Z (Kai) RPG that's been done right finally. It's addictive and fun, but sucks being in Japanese. I'm really hoping the series kicks up again so that this gets at least a US release so that I can enjoy this more.

    Also the game only follows through to the end of the Saiyan Saga and doesn't seem to go to freiza. Thus the name Saiyajin Raishuu (Saiyan Invasion)

  • I kinda agree with gheeb89... They should stop trying to make games other than real time fighting of these series. I would love a new Supersonic Wariors with graphics that do not give you the idea that you're playing a gameboy color game.

  • This game interests me. Since it covers a short story arch, I assume there'll be a bunch of sidequests and stuff to lengthen the game since it starts at the 23rd Budokai tournament.

    However, I'm hoping that there'll be more games which cover the rest of the series, but maybe Monolith are seeing whether this system works for a DBK RPG before doing more.

    I'll grab the game now and I'll cover a little more as I play through it.

  • Yeah I'm not entirely sure how they managed an entire game out of such a short story arch either. In my opinion it should have at least gone to the end of Freiza Saga with that being the original major story ending. But we'll see. I agree with Saiyajin Mui that maybe they are kinda testing the waters to see how a DBK RPG will go.

    Anyone who's played the legacy of goku games on GBA will know how they love releasing 3-4 games to cover one show.

  • I managed to download it just fine from the US server (despite the fact I'm in NZ :p)

    Just started the game and I'm liking what I've seen so far. Game works fine on my R4 with Firmware 1.18. Battle system seems to work quite nicely and with cool battle graphics to boot. Out of battle sprites are a little bit off, but I can ignore that.

    I know next to no Japanese, but the game seems quite linear so far.

  • I appear to be a little misled by the trailers I've seen. I wanna ask: Can anyone tell me if this is turn-based or an RTS? Like, for RTS, can you move around, or is it the opposite?

  • It is like them in the fact that it is an RPG game following the basic story line. It has characters which you battle and train and level up. However battles are done in a turn based final fantasy sort of style. You can improve characters stats such as HP and Ki and attack power and stuff using AP earned in battles. Experiance earned from battles also helps you level up.

    Due to the style of this game, I really wish that it was in english, as I'd probably never put it down. I honestly don't know any Japanese and this is all I can gather from being a huge RPG fan, it has those core elements. Quite a fun game none the less. Personally A LOT better than their last game. That DragonBall one.

  • I personally though DB Origins wasn't too bad, although I found Advance Adventure on the GBA to be more fulfilling.

  • I rather enjoyed the Legacy of Goku Trilogy, thought it was quite well done, considering the simple approach. I'll give this a shot. I know a bit of Japanese, and the DB games are never too Kanji heavy, so I should be okay. Hopefully this is better than DBZ: Legend of the Super Saiyan on Super Famicom, haha. Talk about a failed experiment.

  • Legend of the Super Saiyajin wasn't that bad. It was styled off a lot of the old NES DBZ games at the time, although Goku's hair not changing when he transformed was quite funny.

    I was maybe hoping later on a game based off the Super Gokuden series. Those were very well done for SNES games.

  • Lol i agree wif 2blubber2 they should do a remake of supersonic warriors on ds or something that has betta graphics. it'd be so awesome. but DBkai just started so they cant really go into frieza saga yet and call it DBkai

  • I cant find my way through that damn first dungeon, can anyone give me any help or something? i really want to enjoy the game more, but since i can't see the dungeon floors i keep wandering around nowhere

  • Damnit, I want this in English. How come all the good DBZ games have to be in Japanese?

    I hope that the Dragonball:Evolution movie pissed enough fans off to revive the series. Maybe then we can get a translated version.

  • @lamkafeira: It's similar to Final Fantasy, among other games of that nature.

    @rabbinator: I agree, thus it is in Japanese, but there are plans to release it in English. I do believe the due date is in August, however, I could be wrong.

    Shows me how much I need to catch up on my Japanese, and it's a good place for people to start learning it :)

    Good rom though, the binary runs fine with no$gba :)

  • Quite a nice game, there's a secret boss you know, after thelast chapter, go to the snow moountains to meet Broly, he has 9000 HP like Raditz, quite hard to beat, use Piccolo, Goku and Tien is my recommended choice.

  • This game is lovely. I am good at it. Also, the Game starts at the end of Dragonball (which is quite alot, too) and ends at the end of Saiyan Saga.
    I am at the Part, where do you can play with Gohan for the first time.
    Now I can play with Krillin but I stuck, I don't know where to go lol.
    Nevermind, the Game has every thing in it: Nice Special Attacks, Team-Attacks (Sparking Attacks)and nice Graphics. Would rate it 9/10
