  • It is a quirky platform game where you control a yellow star(Fish?) and help an astronaut bunnie to regain his memory. Someone had been taking laxatives because this game got leaked two days earlier thaan the release date! My excitment is indescribable, and my constipation is unbearable. I will definately play it (on the can) as soon as I finish downloading it.

  • I have to say I recommend this for anyone who likes Platformers like kirby or mario great game from what i haveplayed of it so far although they could have done with some more power ups or attack upgrades for when he is in normal starfish form the star spin does get repetitive but all in all it's an enjoyable game

  • Ah! The Legendary Starfy! Until this release, I had no idea who Starfy was. A quick look over the Wiki told me that Starfy has had many titles, and this one marks his fifth, and only title to ever make it to the US. Japan thought Starfy was "too Japanese" and wouldn't fit in America. I'll get to that in a second, suffice to say, Starfy seems to fit in pretty well, except for a few glaring issues.



    Let's get started on Starfy the game. Well, the story starts out as cliche as it can, with a strage space bunny falling from the sky, landing right in Starfy's room. As if that wasn't bad enough, the bunny was trailed by a group of baddies looking to capture this strange bunny and take him back. Starfy becomes angry when the goons insult him, and quickly beats them up using his signature "spin attack".



    The bunny falls off the floating cloud and into the ocean during the fight and Starfy and his best friend, an Angry talking clam named Moe, follow close after. A giant squid takes the bunny and it's up to Starfy to follow close after. Now the game play in Starfy is pretty much tried and true platforming. You battle enemies using your spin attack and collect pearls which can be used to buy various things from Moe's shop.

    Starfy will meet many colorful characters throughout his adventure, many of whom offer side-quests he can do. You can talk to these characters and get all kinds of info. Starfy can talk, but he only responds in gurtles, grunts, and glee. In fact, this sound is so grating, that you will most likely turn the sound on you DS off, lest you have bleeding ears! Starfy is freakin' annoying. The music itself is pretty good and each world is pretty unique. The game isn't challenging, but it shouldn't be when you're trying to introduce a new title to American soil. Starfy is pretty cute and cuddly, but the character dialogue scenes look like they took a 3d rendering of Pac-man and made a star out of it. They're completely retarded! The dialogue portraits -DO NOT- Give Starfy justice! Now to my other quirk. The pearls. Pearls are everywhere and you will go out of your way to collect them; however, the only thing you seem to be able to buy is costumes. Costumes would be awesome if they changed the way Starfy looked in the game, but they don't! Costumes only allow you to dress up the 3D starfy in the start menu. STUPID! There are literally 0 incentives for collecting the costumes unless you are a 100\% collection freak, which I consider myself.

    All in all, Starfy is just a cheap knock-off of Kirby, which does a better job. Starfy doesn't offer anything different than any other platformer out these days, and unless you are dying for some platforming action, I suggest you stay away from Starfy, or at least rent it.

  • Xdifferentx: The touch screen is basically only used for the minigames, everything else can be controlled with the D-pad and buttons.

    And does anyone else get a Commander Keen vibe from the enemies?

  • Great game, my 8yr old daughter simply loves it and plays it for days now. Works great on M3RealSakura. The platformer gameplay easy to handle and soooo colorful but not boring (even for grown ups, actually I gives me back some kawaii retro memories on good old nintendo days). Deserves your DL.

  • I downloaded this a few days ago after seeing it advertised on TV. It's an extremely simple game.



    You're a starfish and you collect little floating bubbles that give you points. You even battle bosses at the ends of levels. Get a bunch of points and you can regain health. Do spinning attacks on enemies, turn into a dinosaur, a dolphin, a chicken, and a seal (I think?) from now and again to get through certain levels.



    It's a lot like Kirby, but at the same time, it's waaaaaay less fun and much more childish than Kirby. I had fun with it, though, so it's childish, but it's still fun if you don't have the time to plop down and play an RPG.

  • Games like this are why I download pirate games. I would NEVER have bought or even played this game otherwise. Just like music I download I always end up buying it if its worth it or I'm a fan. Its like try before you buy.

  • Okay, here's how it is:

    The game worked the first time I played it on my R4.

    I finished the first two levels (1-1 and 1-2), and saved, turned it off.

    Then, the next time I played it, I tried 1-3 and the Secret Room (1-5). Both caused the game to hang (White Screen).

    Right now, I'm using the imported R4i FW 1.23, but the same happens on the old 1.18 R4 FW.

    Is this anti-piracy? If so, where do I get a cheat/patch to bypass it, and how do I apply it?

  • I know a solution to play The Legendary Starfy regularly. You need No$Zoomer, a program for the No$GBA to enlarge screens. I tried it yestarday.

  • Fun platformer that allows wireless coop during certain battles. Beat the game, so the rom works. Thanks to the romulation team.

    Don't judge it on appearance (Althugh thats what made me download it!) just give it a try, its worth it! -^o^-
