Sweet!
Don't be shocked at the graphics, this was originally to be released on the GBA.
Bel Lenora is a world where people are born with magic at their command. Years ago, a single man walked the land with no magic in his veins. He brought death and tragedy in his wake and was banished by a brave General at a great cost. What? O.o
Oh... Well... Great to see it up :D
Hmm... Well, time to see what all the fuss is about.
Love It!!
"I've ruined three pairs of pants just trying to talk to her"
WTF?! holy adult themes, Batman! Also, holy hilarious.
The graphics of that reminds me FFVI or Chrono Trigger from snes.
I like this game.
The gameplay is simmilar to chrono trigger, battles are a little strategic,
i dont like it, it feels slow.
The whole game feels too slow
I really looks like chrono trigger, which i love and still didn't finish. I didn't know it was original for GBA :S but okay im going to enjoy this after my homework.....
What do you mean by "slow"? Storywise? movement-wise? slow to level up? A little more detail than "slow" would be helpful to people trying to decide whether or not to DL this game.
"Slow"... battles don't feel as fast and furious as some of the classic Square games Black Sigil is emulating... world map movement is almost maddeningly sluggish... I'm still having tons of fun, though, and it's mostly riding on the palpable wave of nostalgia this game conjures up. The games of my youth... ah~!!
It's graphics are like the SNES, and the gameplay is VERy similar to FF IV, V, and VI
Ajust the speed of things in the configurations menu. Also of course the caracter takes a while to fill the ATB gauge on low levels. And, yeah, the story is not rushed.
Oh, you can move around your guys in battle!!!
Thanks to this site and ds emulation i have an awesome unparralelled back collection of games i need to play. alot of patched games because i have an r4 and have gotten every game to work on it. kingdom hearts, chrono trigger, echos of time, monsers lab, you name it, it works. i love this shit
8mb doesnt mean bad. i have a lot of great small games. i was stoked cause i didnt have much room left on my card so it was better 4 me. should people not try it because its 8mb? i dont think so. i hate it when people ask a STUPID question like that because the files small. morons post that shit all the time. dont be one of those morons.
Ive been playings its awesome works great on cyclo.
snes games trigger and FF were mostly 4-6 mb...so?
its alot like chrono trigger in battle cept u can position urself better.
Its ok there are a few annoying things tho!
firstly the guy above that called it "slow" is right! moving on the world map is irritating, takes forever to fill your atb even at the fastest battle speed! and battles overall just fell sluggish!
also it annoys me that there is no flashy effects or at least a noise when entering a battle, the screen just go's black and then the battle screen pops up! first time it happened i thought i was just entering a new area!
however its enjoyable none the less despite these faults im just wondering tho why the hell square have'nt taken legal action against this game, they really should have just called it "chrono trigger rom hack" as everything has been ripped out of that game!
Supposed to be a mix with Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy
Bout time it came out because I've been waiting for 2 months!!
They kept on postponing the release date >\_
Guy's while the game IS small it is not a measly 8mb. It's 16. It's only 8mb COMPRESSED . And the game starts slow, but it picks up a bit after a couple hours. Give it a chance!
@silleeel: I think it's different enough from Chrono Trigger to not get sued. The fact that there are world-map-battles is already different, and the whole movement ability in battle (which is actually what I wish Chrono Trigger had for a long time now). They do copy the area-of-effect bit from Chrono Trigger, but that's been done by plenty of other games too.
I agree that the world movement and initiation of random battles is clunky, and that the ATB in early game is sluggish no matter the Battle Speed. But the art style is reminiscent enough of FF6 and Chrono Trigger that it feels like another end-of-SNES era game, so I'm going to stick with it.
A total clone of Chrono Trigger -- btw, meeuw, finish that shite, yo! like 16 endings... -- it has the same mechanics: combos, area attacks, etc. The only real differences I've seen 2 hrs in are a different menu system & ... you can't see enemies before you hit 'em... um... yea, that's about it. The dialog isn't quite as snappy, and I have to presume there's no time travel. As for the "slow" complaints, I do kind of agree, probably a few too many enemy encounters for my taste.
Overall, not a bad game. Nothing new if you've played Chrono (and if you haven't, redress that PRONTO), but worth the 16 megs it'll occupy on your r4.
Who published this game? square enix?
A 8mb game should be sweet after all look at how big cave story was and everyone LOVES it thanx
Graphics and combat remind me of chrono trigger
Hmm not bad at all, Even though it's just 12MB (Using skinnyrom) it's a really good RPG, The story and all is really entrateining also =), The only bad thing i encountered so far by playing is there are way too many fights... Just to get from the entrance to another, It takes like 6 fights =S, But guess it's not too bad either as you get kinda 'Forced' to train your character =P.
Wait, so it's originally a GBA release, but they took THIS LONG to port it to the NDS?
They didn't port. It was designed for GBA, but then they moved development to DS.
Anyway, FINALY!
Actually, they were orginally going to have it on the NDS AND the GBA.
How does someone flee from those battles??? it's kinda irritating
Its actually pretty annoying, Chronon Trigger got it right, the battle system i mean. there are too many fights and its like Chrono Trigger + Lunar. TOOOOO MANY ENCOUNTERS! I TAKE A STEP THEN FIGHT, plus battles are tiresome
Very bad game, i didn't even make it to the priests cave before i had to soft reset. I couldn't take it any more.
2/10
Well it's a good game for me, it looks similiar to CT,but with more strategic element i guess.
not so good graphic, but still enjoyable though, very good story + nice character.
This game COULD have been awesome. I love Chrono Trigger and as soon as I started it I thought it would be a nice romp through a classic-looking rpg, then I stepped outside the town. UGH. Random battle every 3 steps, slooooow gear up time, booooring.
I'm going to go put Trigger back on my card and play it to make myself feel better now.
Well, if you played the game for at least 10 hours, you'll get used to the random battle, infact you'll like it. why?
cause you'll need a lot of level before you continue to the next chapter, and it will be very easy to find monster, you don't need to walk over 15 sec for 1 battle
Pure, ripoff.
Anybody else lose Three characters after the sky ship mission
Very interesting game though, but does anyone know how to skip battles?
It's a very nice rpg. It certainly looks like Chrono trigger but IT IS NOT it. It has a beautiful story which makes a unique protagonist which I like. And for the ones that wish to change the speed or the random battles, I'm certain that a cheat would be available anytime soon.
Thanks romulation!
It's a good game, dispite the very frequent battles, and the random beginning status effects that can't be healed with the healing items, i've found my self working around it
Anybody know how to flee from battle ?
Hold b to run
Hmmmmm.... somehow the Grapics Remind me of Secret of mana... anyone Agree?
plus i think i'm gonna like this game xD
anyhow.... i'm gonna download it right now xD
Great game only i dont see the save circles yet ^^
You will see one save circle inside the academy of magic something... ^\_^ sorry cant remember the place.
I must say that the humorous text in this game is entertaining, and the combat system is thrilling and very 90's. Which is what I look for in DS games. This game is a DS Gem waiting to be played "Two thumbs way up"!
I got the game the day it came out, and it works perfectly on r4
btw.... does anyone know how to get to the polomaze after getting the boat in fused artania???
btwa.... dont tell me anything about the map, my topscreen is broken, and i cant see it at all, so all i can use is the bottonscreen
I love it^^
The best way to play this game is to use the cheats: no random encounter (with the option in your control) and then the experience multiplyer. Even though a big part of this kind of game is levelling up by encounter, it's too excessive in this game and ruins it.
I went back to it (as there hasn't been a classic rpg released in a while and I just really want to like this game) and used these cheats and it's much better now.
Wow this game file size is really tiny it makes me love it even more who thinks it is a contender to lunar knigts commment back plaese
This game is terrible. I stopped playing after about 15mins. If you want a much better game with a vastly better battle system, play Chrono Trigger.
is there cheats for this game on the ttds
tip for anyone having trouble with the battles at some point when you get isa you get to orchid valley there will be a small town with sheeps and all. the merchant there sells "scarlet petals" id really recommend buying them since they make regular encounters pretty much selfplaying (just make sure your party is actually strong enough to beat an enemygroup with regular attacks and make sure you heal them after the battles. id also not keep them equipped if you enter a new section/map if youd run into a bossbattle it would suck) later when you get rogurd he has a skill called "gold rush" you can use to run from battles.
also just to point out if you didnt figure already: you can save on the worldmap as well as switch active with inactive characters if you have more than 3.
Foooo
