Just in time for my plane ride to SGC
I think Its a bowling game.
Niceeeee.
NOOOO! It's Warhammer, it's a full contact sport involving Warhammer characters and rules! Still not on the server :(
This game was kinda dissapointing i thought it was gonna be a full on grudion game but its turn based
A game for uber geeks everywhere :}
otherwise, its a terrible game
For those who don't know, this is based on the board game by Games Workshop and uses races from Warhammer (ie, Orcs, Elves, etc...) and it's basically a turn based American Football game where you can beat up your opponent.
This game is brilliant if your a fan of the board game version (or Warhammer in general to be exact) as it is an exact replica (even uses dices), but I doubt none Warhammer fans may like it and if you don't like it then try the console version as from what i've seen (and heard) the console versions have more features, teams wear more colours (DS only has red and blue team colours) and also you can choose whether to play the game in RTS mode or Turn based mode (on the DS version, it's just turn based).
Bough the PC version, then tried this one... god, the DS version is just terrible! Buy the PC one if you really wana play Blood Bowl!
Mixing geeky board games, with meat-head sports.
what a brilliant idea....
I prefer the other warhammer game
This Game is great.
Its a game for people who dont play sports and geeks lol other games are way better
This is a brilliant rendition of the actual tabletop game.
It is quiet hard to begin with, but it only took me 1-2 hours to get to grasps and start winning matches.
Smash.. Blitz... Run... TOUCHDOWN!!!
I agree with you Haplo\_64 and it is quite hard to begin with (in my opinion it's because the AI is using the official team stratergies).
However I so wish I had a decent PC or a PS3/XBOX 360 so I could get it on there aswell because judging from this website here http://www.bloodbowl-game.com it seems that them versions have more stuff in it (including more pitches, star players, RTS mode, etc...)
There was a book on it from the Black Library. Glad that warhammer universe is expanding into the ds realm. Wish there was more 40k too.
Its cool but the board game is much better
I want to play it. I really do. But I can't. I keep trying to. I just can't play it; it confuses me and I get crushed almost instantly. (Oh, that and the fact that I'm extremely unlucky; rerolls anyone?)
Game is fun, but it's very easy to accidentally click the wrong place and then you are totally screwed.
Game is great, any fan of the original game will no doubt love this. Many features of the original are cut down or excluded but in fairness the game would have been rather complex to port in its entirety. However, league and cup play are included as well as a nice selection of races (Human, Orc, Dwarf, Chaos, Goblin, Skaven, Wood Elf and Lizardmen off the top of my head). There are no star players per se but each race has special units which possess most of the abilities the star players would normally have. Regular players earn points as normal and can be upgraded over the course of the season.
Viewing angles occasionally make the controls slightly difficult, but that is my only complaint about this otherwise fun version of a classic game.
Lol this game is gonna be pretty sad to real sport fans.... its a turn based sport game
i found it really boring
*crys softly in the corner* m... mm... my undead are missing
used to love playing undead the mommys on the frount line and powerhouse down the field
*wimpers again*
Been playing this on my R4. Although it's a great port of Blood Bowl, the game itself seems buggy. I'm at the end of my first season with a Lizardmen team except I can't play further as the game locks up completely as it shows the Team Formation screen. I'm very sad :-(
It works okay on my R4 as I completed 3 seasons with my Wood Elves, no problem.
I agree though it is buggy and what I tend to get now and again is the computer not doing anything and just letting the clock run (maybe the computer needs to use the 'end turn' button a bit more, lol!!).
It's boring... But yeah played like 5 minutes ×D
Agree with ya DonkeyKong7, Very boring!
Great game for every BBL fan!
I have the same problem as OOPMan - game freezes on team formation screen (also Lizardmen team :P) but I'm using TTDS. Anyone know what to do? I really want to play more it's totally awesome.
No electronic game will ever beat the real thing, and while this is a semi-decent port of the boardgame, the game's irritation factor is just way too high.
The computer has the upper hand in practically everything that happens. You'll rarely find that the AI fails its passes, or fails to dodge away, or fails to gain a bad dice roll. Your players are more likely to be KO'd and sent off the board for injuries than the AI.
Bad luck on my part? No. Not unless bad luck is contagious.
I thought of using the game as a tester for tactics, even though AI can never beat the ingenuity or creativity of a human sitting on the other side of a table from you. I'm tempted to find other ways of testing strategies than playing this version.
IGN gave this game 9.5/10
