  • The last Sherlock Holmes game on the DS was a pc port as well. I'm not a fan of the imprecise nature of the touch screen vs. point and click, but if you're a mystery fan you might enjoy it

  • Well technically, this is new; there was a Europe version of this game - "3675 - Sherlock Holmes DS - Europe" - which came out around 4/23. I haven't played either but judging by the comments on the 3675 version of the game, it should be good (or at least fun).

    "....In The Mystery of the Mummy, Sherlock Holmes is requested by Elisabeth Montcalfe to find out the truth about her father and explore her father's manor to unravel its secrets. Lord Montcalfe, a British archaeologist, has disappeared, and Scotland Yard believes that he killed himself by self-immolation. However, Elisabeth believes that her father may still be alive, which is why she has sent for the famous detective.....

    The Mystery of the Mummy is in first-person view. If you keep the stylus on the pad, an icon will appear if there is something with which you can interact. It's also incredibly important to look on the floor and ceilings because you are in a 3D environment....

    Visually the game looks about as good as it can get on the DS. Everything else, in terms of music, dialogue, and voice acting, is supposed to be the same as in the PC version. The only change is that it's on a much smaller screen with a not-so-impressive sound system. Hopefully the experience on the DS will be similar in terms of creating the right mood and ambiance so that players can feel immersed...."

  • This game is ookay... its not good but its not terrible.
    The graphics look like they got ripped off from resident evil ds, meaning they could have done a better job, moving the movement of the camera with the stylus is messed up... but if you like mystery games give this one a try you might like it....

  • I would personally reccomened the PC version over this one anyday, but if you've played any of the current Sherlock Holmes games, this one should be a walk in the park for you. Other than that, it's a load of fun to go through the game, but not much else to do after that.

  • Sherlock homes is good like peeps say better on the pc but still good ive played the E version right thru doubt its ant diffrent.. oh and this is totally off the subject but are there any awesome jap games im missing out on i somtimes download a random one but its allways madness (not being able to read japaneese dosent help lol)

  • The game can be frustrating, especially if you don't want to use any hints. Although if you get desperate, a redeeming feature is they provide you with clues so that if you get stuck, you don't have to fire up your computer just to look at gamefaqs.

  • for a sherlock holmes fan, i enjoyed the game. You have to employ holmes' famed way of meticulously going through every inch of your screen for anything clickable.
    The down side is that it is a bit short. however, if Holmes actually took longer than a few hours on that kind of mystery, I wouldn't be his fan.
    It great that they give you hints in case you get stuck. If you want to figure it out yourself, that fine too.
    The only real complaint i have about this game is that the screen can be a bit frustrating while panning cuz it pans a bit too quickly sometimes.

  • its pretty decent, good puzzles, nice atmosphere, the only prob i had with it was the cut scenes look a little rough, but overall it doesnt screw with the game...also at one point i thought there was a security check in it when i couldnt get through one door, but it turned out it was just me forgetting to pick a certain item up ;P...worth a download

  • I'm not used to 3D games so I got a bit of a head ache just by looking around the rooms while investigating so I have to put the game down every now and then for a break. The storyline is good cause its somewhat captivating but the graphics for me were somewhat lacking because personally I prefer anime like graphics (sorta like the layton graphics :) )- the graphics are a bit more life like in this game, but the built in walk through is really helpful when you get stuck.

  • It's a pretty interesting game; I had only played Sherlock Holmes in PC versions before but I think they transferred it to DS form very well.

    The graphics are great, but like the person said above me, I like Layton graphics best.
