This is Happy Star Band the english version so I am downloading it.

Fun game! The intrument system is pretty good, cute anime-style characters and other fun stuff like costumes, hairstyles and instrument upgrades you can make as you gather points from your performances.
I obviously haven't gotten too far into the story element yet, but I am enjoying it so far.
So is basicaly a girl's Rock game ?
Anyone mind posting any Image?
Also is the music quality good or just some 8bit randon stuff?
(I cant realy expect something decent from this game's size)
Okay, final report since I fnished the game in a little over an hour and a half. Assuming this must just be some kind of precurser for more stuff, I looked around. Nope. Unlocked all 6 outfits, instruments, hairstyles and all areas, credits and all. Almost al the description of the game from the official site is a gross exaggeration and this:
"A great family story of teenage proportions, will the girls pick love, or their love for music?!"
I don't even know WHAT they could be referring to there, since the "story" is completely linear, you don't actually play a character, you just read through the story and make no decisions whatsoever, about love or anything else. As far as their appearance "changing" - yeah, if you change their costumes, I guess.
Since I didn't actually buy this game, I'm not all that bitter and did enjoy the game for what it's worth (about $5) the art and 3D graphics are good, the music is lame but that's to be expected. Try it, enjoy it, just don't expect anything more than a short ride.
I found Happy Star Band to be an enjoyable, simple game. Even though I couldn't read the language, the controls, menus, and gameplay were all very intuitive. I look forward to playing this, and I expect it to be worth every point.
In my opinion, it's a good game, but, Arc System works must focus on better games, such as Guilty Gear, and not in other games like this one...
The game mechanics play ok, but like Pop Town, it's all generic MIDI tunes for music, nothing licensed. Therefore, the songs seem identical to the original European release.

Nice game, but the description released on IGN was pretty weird. It has as much story as Guitar Hero, really. Its nothing like a dating sim, but a rhythm/music game with a sort of inbetween dialogue. o-o Am I the only one who lost in the end of the game, though?

its an ok game, ive been on better but if you want something to do then its there,,, otherwise id recommend you look for something else.

I'm enjoying this. It's nice to be able to play as all 4 instruments.
Not a bad game but such a lame ending going so far and losing,but becoming famous because of it.I guess it that girly stuff about everyone being a winner or something.
Playing the instuments was pretty much the only thing that was OK in this game in my opinion. The story line could stand for a lot of revising though. Finished it in more or less an hour of playing and I was fairly disappointed in how the story turned out.
But like I said, playing the instruments was fun whish I suppose is the main point in the game. So download it, just don't expect much from it.

Downloaded it, beat the game only using Mai the whole time in a little over an hour. I liked it a lot and will probably go back through it to play the other 3 band members as well.
Lots of fun and actually pretty challenging to where its not too hard but its not too easy. I really like getting enough points bo buy sweet stuff
Where's the dating sim in this? Am I the only one who thinks that this story lacks depth? The only guys I ever saw were the DJ and the bass guitar's brother... Is there something i have to do to see other guys?
its mostly for girls, its a fun game, kinda like a Gituar hero for girls, and is a okay game.
this was a good game, a little girly but still good. my only complaints is that 1, when the game gets harder the notes are just a big clutter and second there is no multiplayer with another person or wifi
