  • Inspired by the popular Cluedo game as well as the popular English detective stories surrounding Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie and Midsomer Murders, in Sudkou Ball Detective the player takes the role of a detective in a small town where a murder has been committed. It is up to you to find the murderer, by completing different styles of Sudoku puzzles representing separate stages of the investigation: Search clues, pick locks, investigate evidence in the lab, and chase your suspect!

    It includes a unique sudoku puzzle mechanic in that the puzzles are all laid out on a sphere. It's certainly different, but it's hard to figure out the puzzles and where everything works within them. The "story" mode is laid out with pre-rendered scenes that are slightly animated. All in all it's an OK game with a puzzle theme. If you are interested in Sudoku, there are better games out there.

  • it is a rather short game. I beat it in two afternoons. Okay, I didn't have anything better to do... There are some issues with the usability of the whole Sudoku Ball thing.

    I wouldn't say it's bad per se, but too short.

  • I found the story mode to be very... bland. I actually skipped through most of the cutscenes because I didn't like the look of them. The Ball idea is good, but the game is broken for one simple reason; it tells you if the number you put in is right or not. I would recommend this to hardcore sudoku fans only. Casual gamers and casual sudoku players should avoid it. At least this was free.

  • This game was just trying to make sudoku more interesting. It doesn't. I just skipped through the story parts. It's just sudoku that unlocks a clue, sudoku that interrogates someone, or whatever.

  • yep, like the other people the story part was skipped though, oh so boring. Sudoku part of the game is ok, if you like sudoku, not really my cup of tea!
