This game reminds me of spectrobes with the fossil digging
the graphic is a bit awful...the character seems to not having joint...they are walking like a robot...
but the gameplay is okay...pokemon and monster hunter joker lover is encouraged to play
It's a fine game....if you like the fossil stuff and haven't played Spectrobes yet, do that first. It's the same idea but with better graphics, story, battle action and a little bit more mature. The chipping away is very much like the digging up feature in Pokemon as well. Kids will probably love the collecting and reviving and kids loooove dinosaurs.

why do people want this game?, looks just like spectrobes with dinosaurs
its not like spectrobes. you get to dig for fossils, and when you get them you have to clean them with a drill and hammer,you need the head for the dinosuar, if your lucky you can find other parts to the dinosaur like legs and arms so it came be more powerful,then once you get the dinosaurs you want you can make a team of 3 dinosaurs with different attributes like fire,water,earth,wind and i forgot the other one. once you have your team you can go and fight at the arena or find more dinosaurs and you can level up after time like every hour to maybe 4 hours you can level up but you have to take a test where you battle and clean and if you win the battle and get a score 50 or higher on your cleaning test you level up. IT IS A TINY BIT LIKE POKEMON NOT SPECTROBES. the fighting graphics are 80x better than spectrobes and pokemon

This is a very good game. Its kinda like if spectrobes and pokemon had a baby only instead of wierd looking creatures dinosaurs are used. Over all a pretty good game. the only thing that bugs me is that the people in the game dont have joints they run and walk wierd. I give this game a 10 out of 10

A good story, sometimes it's hard to beat...
I suppose this game is alright for kids. It's a bit simplistic and it's an obvious knock-off, which doesn't necessarily deter the game's own intrinsic individual value, but it might turn off the more simple-minded who won't be able to look past its similarities. The game does move a bit faster than Pokemon, and lacks the slapdash challenge of the bigger title, but it still remains engaging albeit with a building level of tedium within. However, there are game-stopping bugs within this title, such as the game automatically freezing up whenever you dig a 100-point V-Raptor fossil, so you may end up really frustrated with this title in the end. A game-stopping bug like this really kills the game. You can either play around it and whatever other errors may be lurking, or you can just wait until September when the more interesting titles come out. All in all, not a complete loss.

This game is good. But you have to get over the stupid movements of the humans in the game they move really stiff like puppets or something. But the dinos look great and it really fun to play and plan out what your team will do just download it. Its good

same guys who voiced Pokemon. Few things on the top
of my head:
Main character has cute electric type Dinosaur.
The leader of bad guys complains about being called "Old Lady"
The bad guys usually leave the screen in explosion.
And so on...

And I thought Pokémon was redundant... Let's break this down into parts, like this game which is a shattered mess.
Fossil Finding: Press L, move. Press L, move. after 2 minutes of that your case is full and you have to go past a ton of useless animations to empty it. (4/10)
Fossil Cleaning: This can be frustrating as it seems no rock has the same density and there's no way of knowing. You use two tools, a hammer and a small drill, as well as an x-ray (to see the fossil inside the rock) to carve the rock and pull out the fossil. You must be careful not to damage the fossil inside but you must be quick enough or you'll run out of time... wait a minute, can anyone explain to me why the heck they time you for precision work? Too bad this was a wasted concept. (3/10) (due to rage)
Fossil Fighting: Restricted at best. It's as if you have to actually try to lose. The pre-programmed commentators repeat their cliché dialogue if you don't continue your turn. You shouldn't be looking at the smalltime commentators though, you should be looking at the fierce dinosaurs displayed in 3D. As a classic gamer I shouldn't be complaining about this, but they asked for it since they made such a "casual" game; the mechanics are too hidden. Since my dinosaur's element is weak against my opponent's element, I take more damage. >>More damage<< That's as vague as it gets. (7/10)
Graphics: I caught a laughing fit the very first second I saw the main character get off the ship. I said out loud "Why am I a cross-eyed ragdoll?!". But that was before I realized every character was a pre-painted 3D ragdoll model. However, the dinosaur graphics are outstanding and play a role in keeping the fights enjoyable. (5/10) (since you see much more of the overworld than battles)
Story: Goddammit. I've never seen such a cheesy storyline. Young boy begins in X discipline. Young boy quickly excels in said discipline. Young boy meets criminal organization. Young boy juggles dismantling said organization with discipline X all while making his way up to being the best in said discipline. (1/10) (for obvious ARHGAGPOKEMONASDJSN reason)
Overall: With a terrible story, mixed graphics, innovative but often frustrating gameplay, this latest highly-advertised by Nintendo game gets 5/10 from me. With better overworld graphics (sprites, for example), a little less restrictive combat and a way of knowing rock density (color coding is one way, a gauge analyzing the last place you touched is another), this odd but fun for 3 hours game would become a "SMASHING SUCCESS".
Final words: Fossil Fighters is wasted potential.

For a game that sounds so awful (its name is Fossil Fighters, for goodness' sake!) this is actually a decent game. It's a lot like Pokemon, as others have said. The battles are meant to allow strategizing, but you really don't need to try in order to win. It's a fun game, so give it a chance.
I'm actually really enjoying this game. Sure, it's simplistic in design (the character design was a turn off at first) the battles are easy (haven't lost one yet) and the story is childish, but hey, it's a kid's game. I love the dinosaur designs, they had fun with them, I like the escavation and revival process, the battle screen is user friendly and fun...people who like collecting and monster games with probably appreciate this one more.

Oh sorry. Read the last line as tl;dr.
The game isn't so bad. It's just that everything has to move by the story which includes you unlocking new stuff (the shops, the next Fossil Fighter level, and digsites). I actually find the rag doll movement kind of unique and it's not that all noticeable when you are enjoying the game. I don't really get how people could not find something they like in this game. Maybe it's probably because the negative reviewers above are all biased against Pokemom and Spectrobes, or games like that. Overall, the only downside is that, unlike Pokemon, you can only obtain one of each type of dinosaur. This means that you cannot get two(2) Shanshan( a dinosaur in-game) and train it differently.(Opposed to Pokemon, whereas one catches two(2) Pikachus and train them both) However, there is some good points to this system as there would be less training and micromanagement, and more fighting and strategy development. I'll give the game a nine out of ten (9/10).
More about the game:
- There is multiplayer.
- Well you need to earn money to upgrade your existing equipments at the shop.(Not to turn anyone in the wrong way)
- And you can upgrade your bag to hold more stuff plus you don't fill up all 8 slots of space in your starter bag in two radar scans of the field. (Unless you're lucky; As oppose to the exaggerated comment above)
- Difficulty I'll say is about Medium. Money making isn't that hard.
- More about the fossil's rock density and stuff... You could always get another of the same fossil. It's not impossible. So the first one would be more of a test if you actually smashed it up with your hammer. Practice makes (near) perfect.
- I haven't found any bugs with cleaning up a fossil to 100 points yet. Maybe because it wasn't a V-Raptor though. The way I'm going through the game, I haven't encountered any bugs thus far.
- (Don't really want make such a long comment) Oh wells.

Ive played the game for like 2 days and its great and then i deleted it because well um... Its just my style of game but stll the graphics are good good storyline exept 1 minus pount is is that tink that the beginning takes to long. But thats evryboddys opinion ofcourse
1 ting still bothers me how the characters walk, all in the game is well made and for the chars its like they didnt wanted to spend more time annymore on the game u know

Its like pokemon/Spectrobes kind of game
I'm a Pokemon freak. A 38 year old Pokemon freak. This is not Pokemon. It does have a visual feel like Pokemon. The music is happy Japanese cutesie style. The collection aspect is similar, but so then are a lot of other games in their design. I have played about 7 hours of the game. Up until 4 hours, I had to force myself to go through the learning phase. After that, I began to love it.
The battle system has more strategy than Pokemon. The skill level at which you unearth the fossils also determines your Vivosaur strengths, as well as the parts you add.
This to me is similar on multiple points as the following games, taking the best from each: Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Spectrobes, and any card battle game.
For what it's worth, it's a lot better than grinding through yet another Pokemon story that is surprisingly the same.
I like it. It's complex and takes time to complete. Worthy of a DL at least.

I like this game. Instead of having to level-grind to beat someone, I just have to dig-up the bones better. I like the 3D battle scenes and the graphics. Then again, it's probably because the graphics reminds me of Guardian's Crusade so that's why I'm enjoying it so much. I also enjoy having a choice in fighting another Dino fighter, instead of being forced into a battle if I cross their line of sight.
Its a bit of a kiddie games, not for the grown ups! I liked it for a bit, then got sick of chipping away at rocks. The fighting is a little boring as well, but its kinda fun search around for rocks in the park.
I'm 19 and I'm in love with this game. The plot keeps turning and you never know whats going to happen next... I go back to get all fossils in an area before going on with the game. I can practically get 90 with each fossil with leaving them at the robot. Money is hardly a problem when faced with Black Fossils giving big gems. (The biggest gem I found is the Humongous Diamond - 30k) The game seems to easy for me, but it's very fun.

To find your dino type, touch the green dino medallion/button on the lower left of your bottom screen. Then select your dino from the list. At the top of the next screen near the center, but still a little left of it will be an icon showing what the type is. If you pay attention to the NPCs you speak with they will tell you how to find it when they give you tutorials. A great place to find those is in the fossil center. A girl standing near and to the right of the entry door will have all kinds of information for you. Very nice to have access to.
game is not as bad as i thought it would be it can get very technical with the party forming and strategy and what not i rate it 7/10
its really not that good. its cool in the beginning but as you play it it gets more and more annoying. good for kids below 12 but if over, try Super Robot Tensun OG endless frontier

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!
Yea the plot may seem simple at the beginning but it will thicken by A LOT after you've become a master fossil fighter (This is not hte end!) Instead of trying to save the dinosaurs from the reign of evil, you were actually trying to save the HUMAN RACE from being eradicated by lizard-people! I did not see that coming at all. It also turned out that humans are a failed experiment implanted by the dino-people 600 million years ago (The time when multi-cellular lifeforms first appeared on earth. Mid-way into the game and the lizard gal will hint you the final boss of the game, which is a galactic planet devourer (Which ties in with why the dino-people is trying to take-over earth pretty darn well). You might think that the fossilized sandles were are joke, but imagin my surrise when I found out who it belonged to (Diggins OMG)In fossil fighters, there is dino action, a little dino romance{One of the female dino people kisses you if you answered correctly), Dino doomsday machines, and two very funny battle announcers who for some reason would not call the cops even when the main character faces certain doom in more than one occation (BB bandit, BB boss, Dinorian emporer, Dinorian robots, and of course the finanl boss)(And how they managed to announce my battles inside a galactic dinorian cruiser is beyond me)

even after chapter eight is finished, theres still a lot to do. You can get Guhnash's brains in your party (Time Machine in the warehouse) and Frigisauras (that legendary dino [go to BB Base and go to the top and beat the ex-BB bandits]) and of course getting all 100 dinos (maybe 115) and if your stuck with nothing to do, go to the fossil shop and talk to the guy at the top as he gives you things to do (like rumors) EG. finding oonga oonga. And when fighting I advise getting composo (not sure about spelling [from DP trading in cleaning room]) as it does -90% attack -90% defence to enemy AZ (attack zone) 10/10 :D
Compso is one of the best support vivisaur even though it has an elemental affiliation : earth :)
ignosaurus is so awesome. after u beat the game u can get him again when battleing saurhead
my team of vivosaurs are awesome because it is attack brain, compso, and dynal.
dynal and compso are in support which lowers attack by -167, defense by -167,
speed by -77, accuracy by -77, and when i use the brain to attack and it hurts over 500!!!

I'm 30 and enjoying this game, so people can quit saying "for kids/not for grown-ups" this kind of thing is completely subjective. Yes, the story is child-appropriate since there's no real violence (in the same respect there'sno "real" violence in pokemon and other monster battle games) and the story isn't overly complicated. The mechanics and gameplay are fun and the graphics are good (looking past the no-jointed people). The design of the dinos/vivos is also great...not the typical green/grey you'll see in games like dinosaur king.
this game is really awesome and its not childish. i enjoy it alot. this game is the most intertaining game i played in a while! plus once again my team is awesome. no one can beat my team of compso dynal and attack brain!!!

people will say that it can get quite boring tcleaning all the same rock, but u dont have to once u get a rock with what you think is high enough (say..94pts) thne u just sell them, so ur not cleaning the same rocks over and over, unless u want 100pts lol

Best Game Ever Played
This game is so ridiculously addictive. The only way it could be better if more info was given about the actual dinosaurs.
Still, I give it a 9/10. Anyone who likes pokemon type games, especially if you have a bit of OCD and like collecting things needs to get this!

I really like this game alot and I plan on beating it before I use any form of cheating. The only thing I don't know how to do is putting the AR codes in for my Ace Card on the DS. Ah well... I really love this game and it is very addicting.

The main character runs like he's got a load in his pants, its just a 3-d rip off of pokemon. But if you have a Wii the nintendo channel will give you some exculsive fossils on the ds download channel so if you like it you might as well get this limited time things but for real he walks like either he is about to poop or just did, lol
