  • a baseball game, looks good, but i don't know anything about baseball so that's as far as i go with this game. http://www.wiiz.fr/medias/soft/2/4193/2.jpg is a screenshot.

  • yeah Baseball
the X360 and PS3 Version was superb
but can't say the same thing for PS2 and Wii ver
of course DS and PSP ver was sucks too...

  • nooo, actually the PSP version is very good. this is no where near as good as the PSP version. oh well.. not a DS type game anyways..

thanks for the upload though :)

  • I thought this version was going to be as good as the PSP version...

  • A wiered name, but its baseball right?
I will just download and see.

  • I guess that BIG made us confuse
but baseball in NDS is VERY VERY VERY SUCK!!!
    BUt i prefer in PS2

  • Hey another Screen Scratcher sport game

  • I have been waiting forever for this! Thanks Romulation!

  • The "Bigs" as in the "Big Leagues"? Clearly named for the baseball fans, I'd just assumed it was an ironically named game for tiny folks, like Lilliputians or some such.

  • no... The Bigs is just a spin off of normal MLB series by 2K

Usually what special in Bigs is actually they using scoring for each special/spectacular action on the game, and if you play this on X360, or PS3 you will see the street style of Baseball in The Bigs...

  • This game is actually pretty fun for a handheld baseball game. I used to play a baseball game for the GBA and let me tell you, this is by far much better. If you like baseball and have a favorite home team then don't stop yourself from trying this one out. I've played other baseball games for the DS and they are just aggravating because they'd only give you the option to use the stylus and you'd have to aim with the stylus... in this game it's not like that and you have the option of using the buttons and control pads if you choose. It's about as good as a baseball game can be for the DS. Also if anyone else is fed up with those boring tutorials at the beginning of a new game, and you just wanna play it without any of that, this game doesn't give you a 30 minute tutorial since it's pretty straight forward anyway.

However there are a few downsides to this game too:

First I'd like to say that some of the stats are off. Players who have good fielding in real life may not have it in this game (and pitchers might have a good pitch in this game that just doesn't work as well IRL and vice versa). This is expectable since players in MLB change over time and a game just can't do that. But they still could have done a better job with the stats.

Second problem is expectable as well. Instead of using real life pictures of the players they use a sort of fake computer animated picture. Sometimes the picture matches the player but sometimes it is way off. One player on my home team doesn't even have a picture at all it's just blank. Regardless of whether the picture is similar to what they really look like it just turns out laughable. Good thing you're not actually looking at their faces during the game.

Third, teams change over time as well as the players. Maybe a pitcher who was good last year no longer has it with him and is just not doing well this season. But if he was on the team at the beginning of the season he is going to be in this game. Which also means all the trades made during the second half of the season are not in this game. This problem could have been prevented if it was released back in May instead of August 31.

As well as the other comments, I agree that handheld gaming is not good for sports games but in my opinion this game is probably going to be the best baseball game you can find for the Nintendo DS. It does right what the other games do wrong. The controls are not annoying at all and were done quite well actually, but it just lacks the immersive elements that can be found in console sports games.

    Overall rating: 7 to 7.5 / 10
