  • Tamim94 Of course it is in Japanese as they will always receive them before us. You can not change the language to English, it has always been like that with Pokemon games. The US versions are due out Spring 2010 so you will just have to wait.

  • The American and European versions of HGSS will probably appear in half a year or something like this. Nintendo always needs so long.
    But you can use your Japanese savegame for the translated versions as well. So you can start playing now and then just rename the savegame.

  • Who needs to translate. Just play the original on VBA and play along. The game hasn't been changed all that much. I'm already at my third gym and I've only had it for two hours.

  • this is great the patches work fine (i have the main parts in english) no freezing yet!

    now just to wait for a kind and noble soul to get a patch that completely translate the story or at the very least change the key text ie: where to go next (its been some time since i've played the story lol)

  • Awesome game even though it's in japenese normally i wouldnt play jap games but if its pokemon i usually do and since its a remake of G/S i have to play it a few hours and im already finished with hald the game very worth it but it freezes like hell so save like crazy.

  • The freezing is an anti-piracy measure apparently, just save more than usual and you'll be fine.

    (Or go get the patch)

  • Alright....Here are 2 patches for the game that work...They both have the antipiracy patch built in...The difference is one keeps the pokemons name in japanese, the other changes it to english...All you have to do is drag a clean freshly downloaded rom to the .bat file and it patches it....

    Once again the patches have the Piracy patch built in no need to patch again.

  • Frostshocker's translation/freeze patch works fantastically. In fact, it's wonderful. If it's kept up at this rate, we could have the game in full English before the English version is released, which means keeping any Japanese things such as awesome glitches, and also not having to re-download the game and start again. Wonderful job, and I couldn't give 2 hoots about Pokemon, but this... this is stunning. From the music, to the graphics, to the completely reworked touch screen and menu system. The whole thing kicks ass. Possibly the best games ever. I do wonder what they'll do with Crystal though. How about Crystal Lungs? Ok, stupid joke.

  • Al haas: a great website for pokemon (in any language you want, english, japanese, ect)is http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page it has everything pokemon from all big international sites. it updates information often, but all ive seen is spring 2010. so i think we're going to have to wait a bit longer than january for english...

  • I see no point in downloading it in japanese now, better to wait, my freind got the japanese version, couldn't understand a thing, sure you get the gist of it but how do u know what ur buying, using or looking for, then there's the storyline, if u have ever played diamond or pearl i think you'll agree that you wouldn't of got past the psyducks if the game was in another language, so personally i'd rather wait.

  • It's a good game, but it's not as great as the original, imo. It's a better remake than firered and leafgreen, that's for sure.

    it dose let you trade i tested it myself with my shiny charizard and it worked!

    also it shows the diffrents weather your pokemon following you is shiny or not (shiny charizard is the best fire pokemon EVER!!!!)

  • sythian thats cause its made in japan the entire thing is made in japan so they would easily make the text's in japanese where they would hav slight trouble translating them to english they would need ppl who hav perfect english so they just send the game to the us where they will cahnge evry single text to the us english

    it's kinda hard to use so i prefer playing just like the original gold/silver version with crystal versi

  • Thanks for the upload! The graphics are awesome, its a great remake! But it kinda keeps jamming on my DSTT /: Sometimes there are areas which turn completely black or in the middle of a conversation my character just stops talking.

    Yeah, you should probably be able to use the JP save file with the US version of the game.
    I've messed around with Diamond/Pearl save files and different region roms, and it all appears to work interchangably (except for the Korean version).

    Everything isnt translated (obviously, that would take ages) but it's more than enough to play it.

    it works for my r4 :)
    the 'main quest line' is translated, as well as the menu and such.
    normal dialogues are not.

    if you still have trouble, just find a walkthrough for the original gold game.

  • I never really played the original Gold and Silver on Game Boy Color, but I am all ready for these games! I did play Crystal on an emulator a short time before actually even thinking about a remake, which happened to be a few months before seeing discussions about the (former-possible) remakes. I have played through some of this and it's pretty good, considering I can't understand the speech (aside from common sense of seen actions) and it is somewhat lagging. Can't wait for it to be released in the U.S. next year!

    Actually, there has been such a scenario in which a pokemon was killed by Team Rocket. In RBY and FRLG, a female Marowak was killed in Lavender Town, explaining the ghost in the Pokemon Tower there.

    but this is the best off all pokemon games before , it is a smoothi of old and new pokemon games... (old pokemons with bether grafiks and that stuff.

  • The English version is not out because it hasn't been released officially yet. Nintendo is working on translating at the moment, and it'll probably be released somewhere around March/April/May of 2010.

    And if you're having trouble with freezing, the anti-piracy fix I mentioned might be able to help.

  • Just because they didn't remake Yellow doesn't mean Crystal won't be remade.

    However, it won't. That would just be stupid to remake it because HG/SS follows the story of Crystal.
