  • I'm all over this one. Don't know Japanese but I've played enough Pokemon for it to not matter at all (played and beat Platinum long before it came out in the US).

    Is anyone having any issues though? I was hearing rumours floating around the interwebs that they added some crazy anti=piracy measures or something to the game.

  • Well, I think this is my first post EVER! But! I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!
    Oh and I tried this on my M3i Zero, and it wouldn't save or do anything ivolved with the item menu. So, what I did was replace the Arm7 file with the Arm7 file of Pokemon Platinum(U).nds, downloaded from here. I just downloaded the Anti-Piracy patch on the top left corner of the page, and I haven't tried it yet... I'm hoping my solution works with the WIFI function too, because everything else is flawless. Like I mean, the game should be able to connect to WIFI, because Platinum could w/o the patach. So all in all, I hope it'll work. Anyway, I'm playing Soul SIlver right now and I'm trying to go to the WIFI floor. Just need to advance ahead a little more, then I'll post if WIFI works. Good Luck Ppls!!!

  • Folks, a note regarding the Pokefix. If your decryption isn't working, change the file name to something shorter. It might help.

  • I don't know where it freezes at, before applying the patch since I applied the patch before playing the game. Well it still keeps freezing at random places... this is just odd. The greatest game with greatest protection!?

    Also, for some reason, I never saved the game... ahaha. It made me start all over from the beginning.

    Just follow the instructions in the readme.txt

    Make sure you apply the translation after the anti-freze patch because there is a translaction for patched and non-patched versions, anyway its explained in the readme.

  • That is the confirmation, go check the last modification time, it should be your time, just copy the rom to your card, or load it into your emulator.

  • Noticed that most Freezes (For me it just goes black and still plays music) when im leaving houses and buildings. but not a big issue, im glad to have it in my hands. xD ty again guys for working hard for are satisfaction.

  • I wish they had some kind of support battle between the different versions of pokemon. Like which game will get the most support, Heart Gold of Soul Silver and then they like take some kind of stat for each game and post it. Just a little something to make a difference in each version and showing your support unless you get both.

  • i dont think translators would do a complete translation of this, diamania. because it will be a waste of time to do a complete translation of this since there will be a usa release..

  • Mine is up and working, but I accidently did the reset cartridge when I froze and it lost all of my save data.

    So if your game freezes, close it out and reopen it. Don't reset and save frequently.

    Just hope more patches come out to fix this!

  • um there are still some parts in the game where it freezes even with thepatch so its not a full 10/10 i used the patch and i was in the unkown cae and when i got out it froze

  • People come on it's Pokemon don't wait for the English version. They're all the same haha if you can't play a Japanese version of Pokemon then your not true Pokemon fan. I always play the Japanese ones first then the American ones later, yes it's nice being able to read but it's no real story her..

    You gotta catch both Farfetch'd in the forest. They only notice you when you step on the brown sticks/log things on the ground. Make sure it's faced in a direction away from you and catch it from behind or the side. Don't step on the sticks though cuz they'll see you.

    Go to the pokemart and talk with one of the people in there and he'll give you something. Check the pokemon screen to see what it is (don't wanna give it away). Anyway that should let you through.

  • There's a few anti piracy games out now, bowser's inside story aswell, u can't save in that game if ur using a flashcart, i geuss every nintendo game will come with antipiracy now on.     Oh and to some people above asking about the Japanese characterizing; its all Hiragana for just about everything except for the names of pokemon which are Katakana.
    How else would a six year old Japanese child be able enjoy pokemon if it had 20,000 kanji? xD

  • I'm already in the Ice Path and I love what they did with this remake! The music's great, the remade gyms are also good, and there's lots of little extras packed in. If you loved the original Johto games, you're going to love HG/SS.

  • I have a problem, i have r4. when i put SS in the games folder and try to load it, it says sav data cant be found, make one? then yes. it loaded but *rough translation* it say it cant detect the sav data. what should i do? same goes to platinum.

  • A beautiful game. It is so nostalgic to go through all the old towns again. Everything is wonderfully recreated. Thank god I speak Japanese. There would be no way that I could wait for it to be released here in the spring.

  • can someone help? whenever im playing SS, the gameplay freezes sometimes. mainly after a battle, after i save, or when im entering a building or cave of some sort and every time all that shiet happens, i turn it off, and start from where i save and yet it happens from the same reason again. idk if it's the R4 chip or the DS but all i know is i want this shiet resolved D: so if anyone can help, that would be great.

  • I don't think you need an explanation of a Pokemon game, It is the same gameplay and sort game as the previous Pokemon-games.

    This is only the Japanese version and that really sucks. I tried it for a while, but I recommend that you wait for the English version. ( expected in 2010 )

    In English I think this game will be another DS Top game.

  • Great game but I don't wanna rune the game when I buy. For those complaning about the japanese, go get a sou silver. English is to be released on April 1,2010. Story is just like the GBC one if your to lazy to patch and you played the GBC version.

  • This game is great. For those people worrying about the language, don't worry. If you've played the first one, you should know what is going on since the plot is pretty much the same. Some things have changed, but not so much that you won't be able to beat the game(I've beaten Johto and Kanto already so I know what I'm talking about).

  • hamza hayat i had the same problem with the light house. if you played the original you should remember that all you had to do was go up the stairs. well in this one you do the same but when you reach the floor where you can't go higher there should be a window to your right. you fall down it and the rest will fall into place. i've already finished it, im playing it for the second time because it is that good. i'm gonna buy it when it comes out for sale here. go pokemon :)

  • Why does it have to be me......my soul silver keeps freezing on me when i get to the 3rd gym, its geting really annoying.

  • i just beat Lt. Surge in Vermillion after beating the elite four, music, game, graphics are all amazing. I personally loved that time when your in the whirl islands and you get a top view of the cave where lugia appears, that was beautiful (some of you may know what i speak of :). Anyways, it occasionally will have random lag, but only in very large cities like goldenrod, and its not even like low framerate or anything, just an itsy bitsy choppy, no problem at all really. The other thing, that angers me a lot is that pokethlon has major lag issues. I mean i go to like 20-40% there and it becomes near impossible to play, and what sucks is thats how you get items like leaf stones and fire stones, etc! I had to cheat to get my leaf stone for my exeggcute :(. Other than that, pure awesome. Way better than the actual fourth gen games, and i love the whole menu on the touch screen and the whole touch interface. Plus they didnt do some kind of gay remix of any of the music, including the champion song that plays when you fight lance and red! Love that song! WOOT!

  • SoulSilver and HeartGold are both great Pokemon games also for those who says they wont play this game because they don't know Japaneses don't worry if you played Pokemon gold or silver back on the GameBoy then it's easy playing it as Japaneses because the story is practically the same(only a few things change on the DS version but not enough for you to get confuse on what to do).

  • Hmm.... My estimate is that about 85% of these comments are not about gameplay... For me the game works fine, I love the graphics, nice use of the touch screen, DPPt Graphics, Sometimes have to use a walkthrough because I was too lazy to complete my Silver. Have all badges, caught Lugia (tough catch), and am in what I think is victory road.... Nice thing about the game is that you can just rename your Heart gold save file to be compatible with soul silver (that's what I did when my heart gold froze too many times). It's nice that in this game you can revisit kanto and fight all the gym leaders there... There go Leafgreen and Firered. After beating the game I might rename my JAP save file to my English version, hope it works =P

  • @kinghunter the last gym leader apparently won't give you the badge because she thinks you also have to pass the cave of dragons (or something like that). Once you beat the quiz inside the small house inside the cave, she will give you the badge when you're leaving the cave. You can also get a level 15 Dratini with extremespeed if you get all the questions right the first time =P. The cave is located behind her gym (you surf there and be sure to bring whirlpool)

    Obviously you've never played the 2 Generations games to make a statement like that. These games are a remake of Gold and Silver(and possibly the addition of Crystal), They've been remade to be Generation 4 related, but still the same feel of the originals. If you can't tell the difference between these games and Platinum, then idk why you're playing at all.

  • THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE FREEZE!!!! This hack seems to be working for me: OK here is the ultimate fix for all of you non-believers! Unpack the game with ds buff v1 and go into the Data Folder, then enter the Data folder in that one. REMOVE the file called guru2.narc and RE-PACK all and voila! If you want to know how I figured that out... its simple: on the internet, there was a Nintendo Anti-Piracy topic about Nintendo hiring a anti-piracy GURU to fix their problem, so... the NARC file contains anti-piracy data. So by removing it, it fixes it! Try it and then ban me for all I care... Have a nice day! please send this message to all FANS of Pokemon:)
