  • as a huge Marvel fan I'm going to try this out, but I'm not getting my hopes up. They can't ever seem to get these games right which is really interesting since they have so much to work with in the Marvel universe. It doesn't seem like it would be an easy task to screw up but there it is.

  • This game works and it's pretty fun but some people might get bored since it's an action RPG and those don't usually work out very well for the DS. You get to select a team of four Marvel superheroes (and I think some villains are in there too) and each super hero is unique because they each have their own set of skills, super powers (being able to lift bigger objects is one the Hulk or Iron Man would have, and Iron Man can fly), and special moves. There are some cool concepts to this game but I think you have to be a fan of action RPGs to enjoy it. By action RPG I mean that it's real-time so it requires at least some skill and there are combos like in fighting games. So this game would be like taking a 2D fighting game and putting all of that into a 3D world where the heroes have stats that can be leveled up. Oh yeah, you don't have to be a Marvel fan to like this game, but if you are it'll be a lot more fun and funny.

    The main and only problem with this game is that it's too easy. Every time you kill someone or something yellow orbs appear and by collecting them you fill a star meter (max of five stars) and it only takes two stars to revive someone. I played for over an hour last night and never died once.

    Still this game is a lot of fun from the moment you start. If you're not a fan of the genre it might get boring later on since there isn't (and can't be) that much stuff going on. I haven't tried multiplayer (no wifi just system link) yet but I will later today and if it's good I'll tell you guys about it.

    Still it's a fun game, certainly one of the better DS games, and definitely worth trying even if you're not a fan of marvel. I've always liked DC better but Marvel has really gotten better with their movies and TV shows, they will hopefully continue to make good movies and games now that they are part of Disney.

  • I download this game and im playing it, and its actually a good game for "Marvel Fans" if you didnt like Xmen legends 1 then dont even botter, cause its looks like that

  • Played this on M3 it seemed very laggy and overall very poor. Is this an issue of is the game just that bad? I'm not a harsh critic and was ready to give these game some allowances and make an effort to like it, as a fan of the series looking forward to a portable entry.

  • ok, so i loved the xmen legends game and marvel ultimate alliance on PSP. i don't think those games should ever be on the DS. and this game confirms it. it plays like a GBA game other than the touch screen being used for special powers. the detail is in the GBA region. the DS is capable of soooo much more.

  • Here we go, my second personal rating. So after the first "cut scene" I wasn't expecting much, the graphics weren't bad, but could have been much better. The controls were pretty terrible, the A button power attack was useless, and the repeating combo was a poorly executed function. The fact that I have four characters on screen was simply too much, I found myself simply picking the strongest one and bashing my way through. The special powers were fairly pointless, except for finishing bosses quickly, and performing them was slightly difficult at first, as the game doesn't use the stylus too much. My main complaint is still the fact that there are too many people on scree, half the time my allies get the kill because they are in the way. It would have been much better if I could just tag with another hero who is off screen. All in all it is a button masher, with a normal Marvel plot, if that is your bag, then have at thee. This user would give it a 5/10, not too bad, but nothing new.

  • I'm a Marvel fan and I can say that I'd rather play the 360 version. It'll probably be less jumbled and won't force me to awkwardly hit the touch screen to use superpowers.

    If I were any of you other Marvel nuts, I wouldn't let fanboyism blind yourselves from acknowledging a bad game.

  • they should have made it into a cool beat em up like streets of rage, rather than trying to shoehorn a version of the console game onto ds...

  • Hey at least it is here we did get it before it even came out because this was supposed to come out in the 15 of sebtember so even if it has bad graphics you got to admit it is alot of fun.

  • It's a game with somewhat well written cutscene dialogue (Spiderman steals the show), and the graphics aren't bad. If you like Action RPGs, this is for you. The graphics are pretty good, but there is sometimes odd lag or even game freezes when to much stuff is going on (aka two guys performing two explosive super powers). Janky controls that are delayed especially when stringing a combo, and there isn't much depth to the game's combat system.

    It's a disappointing but understandable (MUA2 on DS? Pfft.) game on the DS, it's decent and worth a try. 6/10

  • I found the game really disappointing
    I like how you can use 4 characters and have the others as AI's and fight with you but one big problem....they do not follow you that much and they most likely fight the air
    Like they probably see something in the distance and try to hit it but it is out of reach and no way getting to it.....so they just stay in a spot, hitting at nothing but the air
    graphics are ok and the skills you can use are pretty awesome
    and i'm a Marvel fan so that's a nice little bonus
    I have to give it a 6.2 at least
    But hey you guys don't have to listen to me, if you guys love the game then that's pretty cool

  • just like adfk said, for those of us who use no gba we cant see life bars and the necessities for disarming that stupid bomb.The best thing would be any suggested patches or emulators(though ive heard nogba is the best).followed by a cheat that you can use to complete all objectives.

    game review:cutscenes are crap but the actual gameplay graphics are not as smooth,they are not too far from part 1 on psp and are quite tolerable though.
    doing special moves isnt easy for keyboarders but the mouse compensates halfway. any marvel fan who doesnt suck at games and has a ds shouldnt mind this game.Advice when starting the game drop ironman and captain america from your team as you will not be able to use them in the second mission if you do.this also gets you comfortable with the concept of using dudes you dont know.wikipedia-ing dudes with good moves might improve your liking of a character.e.g didnt know sentry before.but i do now >:).enjoy

  • solution found : download desmume. it is way better than nogba at rendering ds games.it solved all my visual problems.

  • this game has good graphics. its good for the ds. but let me just say one thing. PEOPLE DO NOT PLAY GAMES FOR GRAPHICS!!!. just play games for fun. if you want graphics go waste $600 or $400 for graphics. or i have a better idea. do something in real life!!!
