    Not a scene release no, thus the iND(ependant) release group tag. I gave it a test with my CycloDS, though, and it seemed to work fine.

    Also, we don't add joke games to RomUlation, so of course it's real...

  • Thsi game is real, but its not released by a dump group...

    Its released by a private site called bit gamer and it leaked to the web.

    GBAtemp people say its just a private release, and they made a release thread numbered XXXX but took it down. I was there many hours ago

  • It's 32MB unpacked. The reason it's only 9.7 MB packed is becuase:

    1) Heavy compression (Thanks for that Romulation!)
    2) The game is in 2D only
    3) The game code is optimized to create many objects from a single class tree.

  • the game is almost critically acclaimed already. So far, I have only played it for a couple of minutes and I'd say it would be one of those must haves for any DS owner.

  • Just finished world 1. Works flawlessly on Acekard2i. The game is fantastic, and IMO, the best game on the DS so far this year.

    It's amazing how many words this game knows. I was trying to come up with the most random stuff, and sure enough the game had it.(you can even type emo, and get an emo kid.)

    The game is rated E, yet I was able to stab a bear to death with an icepick.

    Don't miss out on this one!

  • Finally hear! This is the only ds game that's had this effect. Maybe because the rest are just there, we should donate to companies making games like this.

  • This game is amazing. Other than being able to create any object, I love that with the actual game itself you can beat all of the levels just by playing each of them once through, but to truly finish it you can go for the advanced mode on each level which requires you to achieve the objective in 3 unique ways.

    Playing on the sandbox title screen, so far I can't find any creature that will kill a T-rex. Even God was killed by the T-rex! That's the beauty of this game - that most of the fun with it will be had just experimenting with the possibilities. It also has a level editor and Wifi support, so I assume you can share you levels with others although haven't tried this.

    Definitely the first DS game in a long time worth paying for.

  • I grabbed this due to the comments here. I just played for 30 minutes and can't believe how it works! Very clever indeed.
    I wonder how many items you can draw though, after all 32 mb isn't a massive amount of storage for our vast vocabulary, but the graphics are simple, so they may have squeezed a lot in. Plus it's slightly obvious what you need to draw, because of the way the game is planned (thinking on my feet here!)
    Anyway, great innovative game, and good for kids imagination as well as adult enjoyment.

  • Great game! One of my tiny problem is using hand style to write words. When you write e, it'll detect c, and some others as well. At least, there's a type writer one.

  • This game is FANTASTIC! Thank you Romulation! It works perfectly on my R4 v1.18 It is sooo fun - I rushed through the tutorial just to get to the fun bit lol.

    I made a robber and he tried to attack me and my other people... I also made a witch and she killed my milkman... leaving his milk lol it's so funny. I also made Heaven and kicked God out lol.

    basically, to sum it up, pirate beats nearly everything except ghost, but the puzzles are a bit annoying, so just stick to the title screen

  • i found out how to ride a evil creature (dragon,sea monster, krakken etc.)

    keep feeding the meat and eventually they will fall asleep.

    when they wake up, they will become nice and you can ride them

  • this game is great just i found a glitch that the starite just appears in your hand when you spawn a item but its not the real one... anyhow im hooked its so great the sandbox is awsome

  • This game is freaking awesome I love how you can spawn almost any item you want. Well almost any item. You can spawn the most random thnigs I never thought I would be able to spawn an oryx in a video game. The flamethrower is awesome too ;)

  • @Red_Manflame: You can also type "win" for that. It's fun, especcially when you win a level with writing "win" and throwing it at the starite!
    Also "solution" gives you a nice juice.

  • Not as Good as I thought it was, because Like If you type in "King" it will pop up a king, But if you type in like "Goblin King" it will still pop up a king, that why there's more then 10,000 words, because if u type in of the same words even with other words, it will pop up the same thing, Like "Blood" will spawn a Vampire, HOW? IDK. And Like "Shield" will pop up a shield, but there no other types of shield, so if you type in anything before or after "Shield" it will pop up a regular shield.

    I think the only thing that can kill a blob is a witch and flamethrower, everything else I tried dies.

    Downloaded it 2 days ago, figured out most puzzles and got gold, but my mind keeps rambling about the other puzzles!
    thats the beauty of the game.
    use your brains and beat it ;) (or have a good imagination like me ;))
    besides that, the graphics are amusing, game play doesnt allways run smooth, but give it a few tries and i bet this will become one of your favorite games ;)

    On one level i used a shark to eat a parana, and used a tiger to run down a hill.
    why?
    because you can, just write a thing into your note pad and ,nacho gringo,it appears before your very eyes. fun to play and a right good laugh!!!

    One thing I dislike tho... When we type Goth and when we type vampire, the same person apears.. D=

    It's also fun to kill a T-Rex with a spoon... xP

    Also... When you have both, a knight and a princess, if you atack the princess, the knight will atack you back...

    It's pretty well done... ^^

  • Meh. I don't know why everyone's going so ga-ga over this game. I really find it boring and mildly annoying to interact with.

    When I create anything, trying to pick it up, use it, get inside, ride, whatever is cumbersome and buggy. I tried to give a spoon to a chef and the game took it that I wanted to throw it at him, and he died. -_-"

    The physics don't work very well, either. Maxwell can jump a tiny bit, but otherwise you have to try and rely on other objects (with skewed or incorrect physics) to try and solve annoying puzzles.

    I guess some people like it, but for me it was boring, annoying, and insipid.

    Rating: 2/10

  • I bought it today (a friend work at a gamestore and thye got it early) and I can't belive how awesome this is.

    I spawned a lumberjack on a bicycle with a flamethrower against a bunch of zombies. It was like watcing Left 4 dead ahhaah. Can't belive how awesome this game is! You HAVE to buy this and support the developers, the totally deserves it!

  • njcraigslister is right btw. The game deserves credit for being pretty original, but if they spent more time on game physics than including every type of fish in the world, it'd be a lot more enjoyable.

    every mission is the same too. need to move something? tie a rope to it, attach it to a helicopter and move it.

    need to climb? use a grappling hook. its just repetitive.

    not only that but some animals and people act ridiculous. basically, all the people are the same. if you put a construction worker in a bulldozer, he won't dig, he'll just sit there. a pilot in a plane? nothing. so yeah, if you like typing the word shark every time you need to clear out a body of water and killer whenever you need to clear out people then this game is great! if you want a game thats more than a poorly executed gimmick, you won't like this.

  • great game. Have a room full of people/animal/dinosaurs. Then spawn LHC and click the Large Hardon Collider and watch the chaos. :-)
    My only "complaint" is that the Pterodactyl is by far the best mode of transport, overshadowing all others.

    as for other complaints: If you think this game is boring, it might be a lack of imagination. And not all humans react the same. Most do, but every person seems to have a special reaction to something. Try typing Rockstar and Drumkit.

  • This game is great! It's made by the people that made Drawn to Life, and I love the 2D graphics and how they really work well for this game. Basically it's a ton of puzzles/levels where you use your imagination and any words you can think of to get to a star. There's also a level editor and stuff, but I haven't tried it out yet xP

  • Downloaded the game yesterday after all the rave reviews on here. After what seemed like an age of (neccessary) tutorial, I turned it off. I will return to the game that's for sure. It looks very inventive. The list of words is extensive, I dread to think what use some of the items would be.

    Unfortunately, it isn't released in Australia until the 30th of September, hence the reason that I am downloading it. I will be purchasing a retail copy upon release though, as the devs who make these type of games need to be supported and have an incentive to continue creating wonderfully creative games.

  • This game is simply amazing, I love it... especially scince i can give a Monkey a gun... its probably one of the best DS games to date, well, other than rythym heaven and the world ends with you..

  • The controls of the main character, Maxwell, are a little iffy, and this game is a bit of a disappointment, given the huge press coverage. It's still an incredible game, though! Definitely worth downloading and/or buying.

  • Dissapointing. It was fun for a while but the controls are frustrating. Although it recognises a lot of words it often spits out something that is completely useless like a completely non-functional ball of wool when I typed "string".
    The most fun I had was just playing around on the title screen. Teleporter taking me to a new stage with a broken down space ship... my astronaught didnt do anything and my mechanic wouldnt fix it.
    Maybe Scriblenaughts 2 will be more satisfying!

  • I keep hearing good things about this game. But what kind of game is this actually? Is it just a puzzle game where you just type random crap with your stylus to solve it? Or is it more than that?

  • Hey if you write in "yo mama" it spawns a zombie. Not kidding. There's also "Giant enemy crab". If you put in "virgin" you get a gamer with a black t shirt. The gamer also comes up if you type in "developer" and "gamer". "Geek" will give you an old guy, while "Leeroy Jenkins" pops up a knight. For some reason, when I typed in "Developer" it had the gamer guy, but he then transformed into a green zombie-type thing.

    Isn't Scribblenauts magical?

  • It only need a free-play type place, a MASSIVE area were you can just spawn stuff... kill things... drive stuff ect. the areas are too small to have alot of fun :'( but this game is still hella cool though :)

  • Honestly, I didn't think it was that great. Yeah, you can make practically anything you want, but the Par limit in the missions takes some of the fun out of it. Also, it's almost as if the game creators expect everyone to have complete knowledge of the nouns they included and that we should be able to complete every mission under par. Some of the missions themselves are even unbearably difficult. Other than that, I give it an overall 7/10

  • Brilliant! downloaded for my daughter, and its me thats played on it! Shared with my sister and granda too! I find myself writing words down to try when I play it next. love it :).

  • Not much to do and the backgrounds in the starting screen have limited area to explore.

    Firstly, the par doesn't limit any of the missions. You can go under or over par, but theres like a 10 object limit. You just get more "ollars" if you finish the level with less objects.
    Also, some missions at first sight may look unbearably difficult, which I personally am happy with because its challenging. But there are so many objects I guess you haven't thought of / discovered. Some missions I couldn't do at all, with a little thought and imagination, I can finish with just 2 objects. You may also be surprised by the number of interactions between objects which are very useful, and can only be discovered by trying.
    I use rope/chain alot, as well as wings XD.

  • I'd give it a 9/10 it gets frustrating at times and when you want something specific it doesn't always come through for you. Overall it was fun and exciting. I'm still wondering how they got so much into such a little size.

  • :/ People. Its not "heavy compression" the game is actually very small. They just use 32 MB because the ds carts only come in 32, 64, and 128 mb. :/

    Try trimming the rom.

    I typed in teleporter and I got teleporter that sent me to some area with people in it. I'm assuming their the creators of the game, and I feed 'em some cake. I'm going to try out some of the word suggestions you guys gave out. They sound like they'd be loads of fun.

  • 2 modes of play, puzzle and action mode

    it's a fun game that can keep you occupied for awhile. It's really only fun if you are creative because most levels can be completed with a few of the same objects or types of objects, so some people may just zip through the game.

    but the game does offer a challenge, advanced mode where you have to complete each level 3 times in a row each time with a different object. this can make things more interesting and require you to think instead of using the 'ole "helicopter rope" trick.

    level editor is alright, could have been much better though. although it is fun to make santa clause want to eat maxwell :D

    so far the most powerful creatures I've summoned is "blob"

  • This is a great game, with so much content and variety! The level editing sort of reminded me of Little Big Planet on PS3. It's a fun game to entertain you for hours, but too bad I don't like platformers.

  • I love this game, don't get me wrong...but items never work out the way you think they will. Boulders for example... In real life I can tie a rope to a 2 ton boulder and then repel down a cliff. If you try that in Scribblenauts you're barracuda food. Also- I find it strange that I can spawn a hammer and a stake, but I can't drive the stake into the ground. o.O Maybe it's just me, but the game seems a little bit overrated. People are just a bit easily satisfied that they can summon lolcats and rick astley.

  • At the start the idea of creating any scenario possible is awesome, but after an hour or so it just gets boring with awkward clunky controls, worth playing but not buying, 6/10

  • This is truely the widest range of obscure internet memes and referneces that I have EVER heard of in a game.

    Try:
    Longcat and his arch-nemesis Tacgnol
    Rickroll (sadly lacking in music, but copyright is a bitch)
    Keyboardcat (Youtube it, if you've never heard of Keyboard Cat. There's a Walker: Texas Ranger one that had me on the floor in hysterics!)
    Things like Mecha and Zombies (obviously zombies, as it is one of the unlockable costumes!)

    I'm not even past the first world, and I don't care. I can have almost as much fun on the title screen! And for just 9.7 megabytes, what have you got to lose? I thoughoughly recomend downloading, you'll never have as much obscure fun on your DS than you can get out of this game.

    I tell you what, though, the creaters MUST be /b/tards! (or know a few of them!)

  • LOL give a big monster like a hydra dragon or ptrodactil ect 3 peices of food they like ussally just meat and they fall to sleep and you can ride them but thats not all type in shrinkray and shoot em then you can ride your own mini Hydra dragon ptrodactil ect LOL :)

  • The game itself is amazing, but it's got a few issues it has to be said.
    I'm not a fan of using the touch screen to move the character, nor am I a fan of the camera always snapping back to him, but whatever.
    The wost thing though, is that once you've completed a level and retake it (to get awards and stuff) you can use all the same items you used the previous time, just with different adjectives describing them, effectively cheating the "not allowed to use the same items twice" rule, which is quite silly.

    Still, amazing game. I'm beginning to love 5th Cell.

    i use 7zip, but the winzip program also works both are free and open the .rar file to sho everything in it, like the .nds file

  • It looks cool! go watch the game trailer, its says that in the game you can use anything to solve puzzles. you just have to type the name of the items that you want to use and it will come out for your needs. However, it is also not perfect as there are a few things that cannot be obtained due to copyright issues which the creators could not put in the game.

  • This is one great game. There are 220 stages with countless ways to solve most of them. There's no point in starting to list the positives of this game because it would take all day and night. On top of how incredible a game it is overall, it's also very kid friendly with no blood or explicit content. Whatever your age I think chances are you'll love this game.

  • Type in corpse and then type in thunder and if you put the thunder over the corpse he will come back as a zombie. Also try typing in chtulu its a surprise.

  • Type in David and a guy in a black suit comes to life. Very cowardly. Fortunately, it follows you everywhere and will kill some enemies. This game is very good. 10/10.

  • This game would have to be one of the best games ever.

    It has everything. You can get loads of vechiles, weapons and of course living things like animals and people.

    Type in "MECH" and you get this cool walker thing that can shoot things.
    And type "SUPER CAR" and a really fast car will appear.

    I'd give it the rating of 9/10.

  • This game is te BEST!!!!Me, and ALL my kids, ages 5 to 13, LOVE IT!! I love it, because it is teaching my 5 and 7 year olds to spell! This makes them SO interesting in how to spell words, I have spelled at lease 200 words in the last hour for the 2 of them. They are learning how to spell and having a great time with it, A for whoever made this we love it so much!!!!!!!!
