  • Think advance wars but with cartoon characters with powers lol. Its not bad actually although I miss the fighting style of the previous two games.

  • Its a tactical rpg game that doesnt enclude mindless button bashing.

    It combines nice battle animations with a indepth and long story that plunges you into action and the drama witnessed in the bleach anime. Visually it is a great game and now the prayers of all the people that have been wanting an english release have been awnsered.

    Overall its a great game my rating 8/10

  • Yeah that's right Akaroku it was, i've heard it goes up to around when the Grimmjow fight happens in the anime, although it will include the 2 original new characters we play here so it'll be tweaked :)

    I've played through the first chapter on my M3 and have had no technical hang ups so far and the game seems really good. I love bleach and this is almost like a fire emblem type with its battle animations. And i'm so thankful RomU have got it :D

  • Great game, wonderful idea - FINALLY! A tactical rpg rather than just a fighting game (yawn) where you control a character not from the original story, male or female.

    Only issues so far: a lag with the text (not to do with the card, just in-game slowness) and some of the animation is poor quality. At times it looks more like fan art than game art.

    Recommended for Bleach and tactical rpg fans.

  • No problems with the game so far. I'm up to chapter 3. Also, none of that corrupt data stuff when I restarted my system. I'm using an Acekard 2i.
    Oh and press X for the text, but don't hold it down or the text will fly by.

  • It's working fine now. Something must have happened when I was extracting the game. Played an hour of it...there's too much talking. Great game though.

    buchichu: That's what I feel when I play this game: in game slowness. When you try to attack, another screen will show, and then another one to confirm. Oh, well...

  • and to answer a previous question, you can save during Free-Time by pressing Select (left-side CTRL button by default).

  • note : you can also save in the middle of battles by quiting through the ingame menu (it'll save for you, and you can resume the battle through the Continue Option in the main menu.

    Great game btw (i dont have any problems with the rom, I use EZflash), Im in chapter 8.

  • japanese version have voices in game but i have played game for some time and didn't hear any english voices except when i attak someone.

  • This game started without the main characters cause they are still small. Earlier than the episodes (Pendiulum of time). The game is great, working fine in AceKard2i. The only thing that bores me is the long reading and only few fights. So all in all I give this 8/10.

  • Okay... I just tried it out and it's pretty awesome for me. I'm stuck on one of the early levels but still. XD I'd rate it about a 8/10. I can't use the touch screen... Anyways, yeah. Try it out. It works pretty good on the EDGE too.

    Pros: The storyline is nice, loved how they added the main characters in
    action sequences are good
    the gameplay is decent

    cons: Way too much dialogue WITHOUT an option to skip through it (For god's sake, I want to play the game, not read 30 minutes worth of text...)
    The support system, is terrible and not worth using
    little to no depth in terms of customization
    Save system: does it's job BUT you can't save DURING dialogue nor anywhere else except after battles and during battles, there are also dialogue free-times where they allow you to save. But seriously, no save during dialogue? Really? The game has more text than Phoenix Wright:AA and you can save during THAT!

    Overall, if you can get past the text,sloppy interface, you have a nice little Bleach adventure.

    I would definitely recommend the last Bleach game over this one, much less text, and alot more fun, albeit they are two different games.

  • This question was already asked. It looks to be about 100-200 years before Ichigo's arrival in the beginning and if I say more than that there are spoilers, so google it.

  • too many dialogues...actually, the dialogues consumed a lot of time....but this game is good..ill give 8/10...

  • This is a great bleach game, although it lacks some...features. In addition to that, the fight is really slow due to the animations.

    The story's good. Waaay too much talking. I was hoping there would be other times to control your character besides Free Time and when you actually fight, like maybe moving your character around Soul Society or Human World like most RPG games are like. But, this is TACTICAL RPG, so if they're different in that way...

  • This game is much better than the last two. Bleach should've been a TRPG from game 1.

  • Lets see...
    1) Game works well, just stick it in and play.
    2) Plot takes place when the current captains of the 13 court guard squads were still little, and Uruhara was still head of Research and Development.

    My opinions:
    Good - Plot and characters, it's all keeping in line with the main series plot. Mechanics, they're complex enough to require thought, but not so complex I lose interest. Sort of like pokemon type advantage/disadvantage planning.
    BAD - No touch screen support, Female main character looks like a cabbage with that headgear, dialog, cutscenes and battle animations take forever.

    Overall
    Bleach fans will like the change, Turn-based strategy fans will enjoy it, people with no patience and/or time will scream at it for a while, and then give up.
    3.5 out of 5.

    I tried it before in Japanese but there was no point really. I couldn't understand a damn thing. What I did play was fun though. The battle scenes were a little slow but I still found it fun.

  • In my opinion I like the dialogues (unless I need to play a scene a second time). The easier way to fast-forward dialogues is by holding down the Button X on your emulator. This is more of a visual novel with some battles thrown in.

  • Just tried the game. i like RPG strats but this game is TOO SLOW, be it playgame, during talks or during battle, in comparison with other similar games e.g Luminous Arc1-2, Super Taisen Robots .... a little disappointed. Totally agree with gooey38. I gave up. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Anywho, yeah - lots and lots of dialogue but I'm enjoying it. And when it gets tedious, like during the repetitive "training session" scenes that are just a lot of "ugh!" "ahhhhh!" "faster! Get up!" "AH!" I hold down X.

    Battles are a little much...it just took me like an HOUR to finish one battle and seriously, if I'd have died by some silly mistake towards the end, this game would have been going bye-bye. But I didn't, so I feel satisfied. ;)

  • I personally, have really enjoyed this game, sure there might be a bit too much text, but i like the way the characters interact with the MC and how he/she affects the surrounding bleach universe

    The Good: Numerous Characters to fight with, the Plot is interesting, the characters are true to their natures, the 2D graphics are top-notch, entertaining gameplay, character stat customization is adequate

    The Bad: a little too much text in the cutscenes, cutscene/fight/special moves can take a little long, rock-paper-scissors mechanic is a little annoying

    But for any Bleach fan this game is a nice change from the first two games, quite refreshing.

    but this is only a half-baked opinion on the game that i haven't fully completed yet

  • This is just a tip for those who think that they might die during a fight.
    If you press select on player's turn, and pick quit, you will save and be able to turn off the ds and continue later. OR you can use it just to save during battle.
    On the main screen it will always load from the last Quit Save that was saved.
    It can be very usful when fighting bosses.

  • the games is pretty good, just that we cant fight anymore, its all based on strategy and tactics instead of pressing combinations of buttons to do a combo

  • Its a good game but its always playing up in numbers trying to defeat me!

  • I wasn't expecting much from this b/c the gameplay for the Inuyasha game was really slow so I developed a bias for anime/manga based games. However, the game is actually quite nice. Parts of it have a visual novel feel to it and the dialogue is all interesting to read. And being a girl, I appreciate than you can choose to be a male or female character. There are also some unexpected turns in the story which make it nice. (BTW, the story seems to be right after Ichigo and company come back from their first adventure in soul society).

    By nature strategy RPG battles are a little slow, and unfortunately some unnecassary parts in this game that I wish I could fast forward through make battles even slower (for example waiting for the hundred enemies to move or not move). But, the parts where you are controlling are fun and the battle maps have nice decoration.

    Overall I give the game 8/10

    Oh, and when the time comes to pick you weapon whichever weapon you choose will change your battle type so choose wisely!

  • A great thing about this game is, if your stuck and your to weak and your on that character select menu you can have a free battle with hollows.

  • Nice game, I always use support/team attack to attack enemy which have lot HP. Using NO$GBA 2.6a emulator.

  • I don't think this game is worth downloading. It's not like the other Bleach DS games and it's kinda boring.

  • It freeses every time i try the chapter 9. I get to play like 3turns of the fight and it will freeze on the same spot every time. I play on an R4 Cart does anyone have a rom that works all the way through???

  • I tried playing this in Japanese when i couldn't understand, but I was lost, but it is finally out in USA! In bleach fourth flame bringer its easy to figure out but hard to know the story.

  • This is a totally incredible game! I know the webs out there are saying that the text is to lengthy and the game pace is too slow - thus giving it an average rating - but I personally feel that it is a great change from the past few Bleach DS games.

    The Good:
    - Storyline is awesome, nice twists and stuff. Glad that they included almost every character - even some non-important ones.
    - Graphics are fantastic (for a DS game).
    - Soundtrack is not bad - at least they bothered to do the voices during combat, spell-casting and Bankai/Release.
    - And unlike Dark Souls, they actually put in lots of effort to bring in new characters, new Bankai animation-scenes, and new moves. Its nice to see Grimmjow being able to use his Release.
    - About the text-length, I think its just nice. It makes you feel really in-game and engaged.
    - The option to select your character's gender at the start is really good. The freedom of names for your character and zanpakuto is really sweet too.
    - Unlike Pokemon, leveling your characters up isn't a pain. Its quite a breeze and rather satisfying if you play it right.
    - And it makes you think! Gamers who aren't good at doing rapid button pressing for combos will be glad - fight at your own pace! Use your head :]

    The Bad:
    - A single match can take you a long time. And if you lose after playing for a long while, it can be rather frustrating, especially since you'll have to repeat all the dialogue from where you last saved. (Trust me, it took me 3 hours to complete the final stage of Bleach Tower without equipment)
    BUT: I have to admit that after completing a really tough match, the feeling of accomplishment is truly great!
    - No touch screen support (Strange)

    Overall:
    - It doesn't really matter if you're a Bleach fan or not. If you lack the patience, you'll probably trash the game after a few chapters. Putting that aside, I think its one of the best games yet. Worth a shot.

    Rating: 9/10 (-1 for being time consuming)

  • Pretty solid tactics game, 3/5, regular graphics, nice gameplay, progresses a little bit to slow and saving can get exasperating since you can only save before a fight.

  • A very interesting Bleach game!! And as always, I love to have game that gave me the fun of watching anime, so I didn't mind those dialogues. I really love the story, and how they fitted these playable chara nicely with the anime/manga plot. For me, I like this one better than the previous one ^^

    Btw, will the story differ when we choose the male chara after we play the female chara??

  • Awesome game 10/10 from me loved the anime and this game is another great addition to the series hopefully there will be more and i was wondering if anyone had a save file for this with all the characters.
