Plays just like the PS2 games
Combat system is better then ps2 and the power allocation system is alot like megaman battle network was where its basically like a tetris mini game to fit in buffs, stats, powers, weapons, ect.
its not the same story. Its the story while sora was sleeping. this game comes after the KH1 and Before the KH2.

Shinobo3, of course this is the WORST Kingdom Hearts Game, because the others that released are for PS2, but the would would be the one for GBA, the memory one, bc this one's BATTLE CONCEPT is the same as PS2's, not cards. So this is 2nd worst. Its goes like Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, KH1, then KH2..... Birth by sleep will prob be 2nd best, bc way more spells and stuff
The gameplay itself is really great!! Graphics are insane for a DS game!! I highly recommend playing this game!
You can customize your character Roxas by using the clever grid system and it's really fun to tinker around with. The storyline is a little bit streamlined though. Not much room for exploration...
The battles sometimes require button mashing, but it still makes to be one of my fav games of the year!!

i beat the japanese version and i think its awsome. cant tell if phongle was being serious, and i dont mean to start arguements, but your on crack. this isnt the worst game ever. i think its the best handheld KH game. birth by sleep i would only get cause you might be able to have a huge keyblade. thats about it. roxas story to me is more interesting. wonder what theres to do since i didnt really understand anything in japanese.
The graphics are indeed very surprising! Maybe that's going to be the first Square Enix game that I'm going to play...

I have played this game, after finally downloading it. It is great! I love the full 3D Cutscenes. I really recommend this game to all!

Blazing Snip-er 7 difficulty i would pick normal I've Beaten The onther KH games on PS2 on normal and easy but proud is WAY too hard
This game is great! A little slow in the beginning but if you can get passed that the fun factor really starts kicking in!

Good Graphic!...wait we are talking about the DS there?....AMAZING graphic!!! , I played the original Japanese version and gave up at the first 20 minutes because I could not stand not understanding the story but now the game makes a hell lot more sense and of course it add pleasure to the experience.It plays like the ps2 but because we are talking about the ds each levels are cut into little quest that last just a couple of minute each,I understand why they did this but it feels like they tried to make us think that the level are bigger then what they really are.The English voice acting is great and it just feels good to play a real (The gba games ..I put into a different category)Kingdom Heart on a portable system.HIGHLY recomended!!!
I'm really impressed, been playing this game all afternoon here and it's amazingly done. I had my doubts but Square-Enix really pulled out all of the stops for this. Definitely worth a shot, even if you've never played a Kingdom Hearts game before.
whoever claims this game sucks because the others were for ps2 is a moron, obviously the graphics aren't going to be as good as it's a ds game! That being said the graphics are amazing for the DS, and the gameplay is fantastic...I put it on the same level as the original kingdom hearts if not better!
this game is great and it totally deserves to be bought.
I will go and buy this game for supporting the developers who have greated such a great game for NDS.

@ASD789, i think you mean Donald Duck, not Daffy. I would presume so, as they were in both ps2 games ( i think ) and maybe the other DS game?

The game storyline goes Birth By Sleep, KH1, KH CoM, 358/2 Days, KH2.
This isn't the best game, but for DS it's pretty awesome

I'm so happy that now the ps2 empire is on the DS. This should top the charts, as one of the best all time DS games.
No other DS game has got this level of production and pushed the ability of the console so far, it's fantastic. Having this on Romulation 3 days ahead of it's reales is fantastic as well.

friggin awesome! i beat the Japanese version last week and now i get to get a better understanding of the story. actually this game is set before and after COM and before KH2.it would be awesome if i could play with my japanese save file but i don't mind playing it all over :)
This game is very worth it :D enjoyable and quite fun. It was worth downloading. It took me 25 minutes :)
@bsarmini: since the size stated on the website is how much you have to download, when you extract the file, you will of course get a bigger file. Use a trimmer to slim down rom sizes. I personally use Tokyo Trim.
@jjdoyle: It's not a problem, it's a Piracy Check. Basically a piece of code that can separate a true card from a rom, and blocks the rom version. GBAtemp is sure to get a patch up to deal with the problem soon. Or check this tread regularly, people post the links to working patches in the rom's thread here almost instantly when they get avaible.
I am a big fan of Kingdom Hearts, and having played this for half an hour now, here is my early opinion on the game. The graphics (considering the medium) are outstandingly impressive, the voice acting is actually better than what I was expecting, and so far the PS2 style gameplay shows no signs of suffering from being converted to DS format. While those unfamiliar with the series will probably be left thinking "Huh?" at points, I would still recommend this game to play, and I would even urge fellow pirates to buy this as well to show support and gratitude to Square-Enix for the sheer volume of work that clearly has gone into the game. There are not many games on the DS that would make me say that but this is certainly one of them.
Hey, bsarmini. There's no problem with that. Once you extract the game, it gets bigger. Thats the point of compressing something into .rar, .zip, or any other compression method. Every game for ds has a size from one of these numbers: 2MB, 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB and 256MB. If a game's size is not one of these, it means, either you didn't extract it or you didn't extract it properly.
really great game... I have a small problem in general with the magic system, as it has trouble with tracking, but that can be overcome in the face of the scope of this game. I question how successful kingdom hearts can truly be though... you can only introduce and help these charachters so many times before it becomes repetitive (I mean across games. You help Beast, Peter Pan, Aladin etc... in just about every game, and it's always the same problem. Hopefully they can come up with something more original in the future, and it's a great little rpg, easily smashes chain of memories (and I truly loved it - got both characters to 99.) Speaking of... any idea if there's a chance to play as alternate charachters... like in Chain of memories. Axel would be fun to play as.)

Anyway, you can play as other characters in mission mode. There are even a few unlockable characters.. ;3

I might be buying this for my birthday. I mean R4 is good for most of the games and I heard about enough from friends about Kingdom Hearts. I don't have a PS2 and I only have a DS so why not?

WHAT THE HELL?! This is the US version, and yet it's in FRENCH! (I'm a french player) I thought I would improve my english, but... finally it's cool too like that! 8D
This game is amazing definitely download it, even if you are not a big RPG fan.
PS: The game works perfect on m3ds real if you use hex editor.
controls can be aggravating though, you can only move in 45degrees
Been playing this for a while now, Axel has just left for Castle Oblivion.
I like it, its like the PS2 version, however the missions seem fairly short (maybe im just too early on)
And im actually finding it quite hard.
Theres a mission where you need to survive against nobodies for 1 minute by using the dodge roll, and i tried all sorts and just couldnt manage it.
Also i ran into some blue monster (forgot the name) but his attacks took me down to about 5% health, and he had about 6 health bars himself. Seemed a bit cruel to have such a beast in the game so early on
ju2coco: Set your DS language to English and the game will be English. North American releases very often contain English, French and Spanish.

Awesome game.
KH games somehow brings the emo inside me to surface. The intro theme song My Sanctuary is so good. The graphics are awesome for DS. Controls are tight. And I love that you can play as any Organization XIII member in mission mode, including KH 2 final boss Xenmar (I think I destroyed the guy's name here sorry 'bout that)
Definitly worth the time and effort patching (wich isn't even that hard, for the r4 ultra anyway) and is definitly worth buying to support and thanks Squeenix for they're hard work.
But damn them for they're PSP exclusive titles such as KH Birth by Sleep and Dissidia Final Fantasy!!
