I liked this game when it came out in Japan. It takes awhile to get used to the touch screen controls but it is fun once you get the hang of it.
This is an interesting on how the Japanese re-interpeted The Wizard of Oz.
Everybody should at least try this game.

well im quite ashamed about the whole track ball thing but other than that its okay!
in regards to dnamac, yes , lots of things, There are 4 types of monsters in the game that i know of so far - ghosts (weak to dorothy) , Fish monsters(weak to scarecrow), shell monsters(weak to lion), and grass type monsters(weak to tin man) also the battle system is a little different than most rpgs i have played.. the way it works is you have your 4 chars (dorothy,tinman,lion,scarecrow) and each have a specific number that allows them to take an action while fighting, normally there are 4 actions- at the beginning you only have dorothy so those 4 actions are set for dorothy to just attack 4 times, once u get scarecrow u can now mix it up, dorothy attacks once scarecrow 3 times..or 2/2 or all scarecrow, u get the idea..but lion and tinman are a bit different, lions actions take up 2 spaces so if u go into a battle and u want to use him u can use him either twice -or once and have dorothy attack and scarecrow attack(since they only take up one action space)
-tinman takes up 3 action spaces cuz he is very strong, so u would only be able to use him once per battle and then either dorothy or scarecrow..i may have made this sound confusing but it really isnt..and when i say once per battle that means once all the actions have taken place the attack starts over ..u get to choose ur chars to use every battle so u can attack monsters that are weak to certain chars accordingly..overall so far the game seems pretty fun..kinda easy but meh...the trackball moving system is cool too - and if anyone has started to play it and is freaking out about the save option..just play it for about a half hour or so..ull end up in the place where u can save, fairly linear game

THANK YOU,I was starting to think that this will never get released.The graphic are quite good for the DS , I'll even say its close to be as good as Kingdom hearts in that department but it's a much more traditional RPG then Kingdom hearts.
Just played for an hour, linear but fun. I like the trackball control, and it's not hard. It would be a very good introduction to RPG's for the younger player.
Actually, the game is based more on the book(s) than the movie. FYI: In the book, the Tin Man (Tin Woodman) was originally a regular person who fell in love with one of the Wicked Witch's servants. The Wicked Witch enchanted the Woodman's axe, which lopped off his limbs one by one. Each time a limb was hacked off, he had a tinsmith replace it with a prosthetic tin version, until his entire body was made of tin... except for his heart.
How's that for a kids' story, huh?

Sorry, but you fail. The film was one of the best movies of its time, and a timeless classic, and now it's practically a piece of history. I'm not a fan of the movie, but even I can acknowledge its cultural significance. Calling it "one of the stupidest movies ever" sounds like something a snotty 13-year-old would say. No offense to any intellectually adept 13-year-olds out there.

Amazing graphics and I'm hoping an amazing storyline!
I played Riz Zowad a while back and it was awesome but the language barrier was a bit more than I could deal with so I was pumped to see they were releasing it in English. And, surprisingly, the roller ball thingie doesn't get as annoying as you might think.

This game is okay... the graphics are outstanding the controls are hard to get used to but they work well, the battles are really easy i mean REALLY EASY, i guess this is a RPG for kids since is rated E but if you want an easy RPG definitely play this one.
I have been dying to play this game and it is amazing so far definently worth the wait and download. Thanks so much for putting this on romulation. Works fine on my acekard 2.1!!

Wonderful game. When I first saw "Riz-Zoawd" I was like: Huh?
Until I found out that Riz-Zoawd is in fact "Wizard" and "Oz".
I liked the game from that day on. Now I can play it! YES!
Very original, altough it is presented as an RPG. You move with a ball on the touchscreen, and you need to roll it the way you want to move. It works great!

i love the trackball!! uhm...dumb question; how do i save? i was playing and died...and had to start all over the damn tutorial! ...Ggggrrr! :P
@ dondersteen - You click the Menu while on a level and click Quit - it will automatically save your spot, or you wait till you go back to the Wizard and save there :)
This game is pretty fun, it passes the time too. I hate the track ball (it was fun at first, but now annoying when you want to run around monsters for a quick area sweep), and I wish they made it easier to gain money throughout the game... But overall, I like it - simple, easy, really cute graphics, but the music gets annoying fast :P
Oh, and does anyone know how to make Toto do his tricks?? I have no idea what he does... or how to use his tricks in a battle if he can assist in battle...

it has awesome graphics, runnings just an ass! i hate first person rpg battles! but other then that it is somthing you should have in your DS vault
it's very cute! it's a little bit difficult to use the track ball at first, but you'll manage it somehow! it's very funny to see when dorothy is running and after that i stop the trackball, it sounds like "ckiiitt", and dorothy almost tripped!

I'd have to say these were some of the best DS graphics I have ever seen! If you're not going to play this for the story (which is very fun but at times repetitive), then play it for the graphics.
PS: the trackball is making a comeback :D
Spectacular graphics, but I don't like the trackball. It's unique and I like it more than regular "touch to go here" controls, but I really prefer digital pads over touch screen movement.

@ usagitan - If you have Dorothy stand still for a little while, Toto will do stuff like flip over on his back or stand on two legs. Completely pointless

The graphics are great. I loved everything at firt then it got a little boring after the third yellow brick road A B whatever, sad to say I will not be playing this much more.
This game is very pretty, I do happen to like the track ball BUT everything else thus far (about 2 hrs in) is very very boring and repetitive. Its like being on the yellow brick road for an eternity running into enemies to FAKE battle every few steps. The only characters I have been able to really talk to while on the road are cats (the same cat over and over saying similar things each time). Character and plot development seem very lacking even though its based on the Wizard of Oz. If anyone can say if it gets better farther into the game let me know but I can't stand to play it beyond road C.

I'm shocked anyone likes this game.
I'm a lifelong fan of OZ (books, movie, etc). I have read all the books, been to festivals, even met a few of the actors who played munchkins... This game only minimally has anything at all to do with Baum's Oz and it was a tremendous disappointment.
The game play is, as stated by others, quite tedious/repetitive. Even the battles are almost too simple for new gamers.
Visually, it is a breathtaking design.
Unfortunately, this would've been better marketed as something other than OZ.
