Whoa I just downloaded Rune Factory 1 and 2 today and now this! This gotta be the best day! Now only some patience for a translation or waiting for it to come out,
I didn't really like Rune Factory 2, well... I didn't like the story that much =S
Aah well... hope this one will be good ^^

Wow, I'm amazed they've pushed this series so far! This'll be the fourth game (counting the Wii game) already! This series simply beats Harvest Moon in everything, it's got so much more to it! I wonder if they'll stop making those HM games now? :O

For those who dont know, rune factory is a Harvest Moon(Farming/Other Everyday life working skills)/Action Role Playing Game .. I have played through the first one entirely and it was pretty damn fun.. Just about to start the second

I am sure that this one is just as good if not better (we learn from our mistakes) :D

From what I can tell about game you Play as Maizu/Mays a Young boy who can Shapeshift into a Wooly.

All characters are Named after food (Chocolate,Candy,ect)

And its basically like the first two Rune Factories, Well 'Cept for the fact that it takes place during RF2's First Gen. So from what I hear other characters from RF/2 Will come to RF3. No confirmation on Ceci though.

Rune Factory is a Fantasy Harvest Moon, which in my opinion is a cross between Harvest Moon, the Summon Knight Swordcraft series, and Zelda esque fighting style. It's a wonderful game, and I recommend it to anyone who loves Harvest Moon or a nice RPG.

well on this game i read u can TURN INTO a monster (little sheep lol) and stuff like that but thats the only distant random almost but not really likeness in it....

unless u wanna count growing berries in pokemon to be like near full fledged farming in this....um...yeah...no

I'm loving it. I really wish I could speak Japanese... anyway:
The graphics are much better; there doesn't seem to be the slowdown that you sometimes got in RF2 when there were too many people on screen at the same time. All the art is better, and it has the same anime-style cartoons when major events happen. The carrying system, as someone else noted, is a great improvement. I'm really hoping that the alchemy/cooking/smithing system is more refined than the previous iteration. Also, the map seems to be a lot bigger and the main char. can MOVE. Homeslice runs like flo-jo on fire.

If Runescape were anything like Rune Factory, I would actually play it again.

Rune Factory is a game with addictive combat, a farming system that makes sense and is logical, yet doesn't leave you hanging around waiting for everything to get finished. The skills you can level in (ranging from camping to cooking to fishing to mining ect. ect. ect.) are FUN to level-up in, though you have no one to show your accomplishments to, due to the large lack of multi-playing.

Rune Factory 2 had some decent boss fights, the level grinding never really seems repetitive due to the vast amount of things you can do while out and about (from capturing monsters to work on your farm and provide you with milk, eggs, wool, ect. to mining precious jewels to make into rings for that "special someone"). I especially love the way you can get married and expand your house, too.

This game series is unreasonably addicting, but those looking for a good story line or traditional RPGs should probably seek elsewhere, though giving the Rune Factory series a go would be far from a waste of time. I sincerely hope Rune Factory 3 will live up to the addicting feel of the other two, and the heavy dose of accomplishment and victory it lets you revel in (though not brag to friends about) isn't lost.

Besides... if you are on this website, chances are you have a flash card. There's no reason you shouldn't try this series. I give the first two a 8.5/10. Very recommendatory.

The first Rune Factory was in my opinion the better of the two, the second one seemed too kiddy to me. I mean honestly, the character and girls all looked like 12, while the first one they looked maybe 16. I should restart both though, it'll give me something to do, I just need to stop neglecting them after I get past certain parts.

That's a bit of a reach. Sure you collect monsters in both of them. But RF uses them for more than just fighting. At least RF Frontier did. And really, that's where the similarities between the two series ends.

hey hey now i quit runescape 5 years ago but the fact that it looks as bad as it does and still atracts ALOT of players and not to mention is free its decent (but no its definitely no WoW)

looking forward to playing this game when its in english loved the others, and please don't relate this game to runescape thats just the biggest insult to this game ever its nothing like runescape-_- runescape was junk made years ago for ppl with 56k connections, best way to explain this game is its like harvestmoon, but not only can you farm, crack onto girls and compete in festivals, it has a storyline, you can fight monsters and capture them as pets to perform different tasks, the whole series is a must have!

I'm trying to advance in the game but I don't know how to get married. I made the witch girl have 10 hearts but I have no Idea how to marry her to advance in the game. Do I need 100k or something? If anyone knows it would be a huge help.

Ok It took me forever but I am now a sheep bitches. That purple orb had to be touched when you are by yourself then you get the sheep morph ability. You need to use that lame red spell once you have this morph ability. Just level up and stuff and get past level 40 then move the totem poles in the first level and you'll get to go down a staircase. You can't pass so you need to talk to the artist girl in the house just left of the first level. She will make rainbow bridges for you. Then you go and fight a beaver boss and if you are alone you can go right and touch the orb and turn into a sheep. The rest is up to you guys. Don't want to ruin the rest. This part just took me forever to figure out. I'm level 55 and I jsut figured it out. LOL....

Just play it in Japanese. It's difficult to understand but as long as you get to the point of turning into a sheep it's worth it. I've gotten my house to have a small upstairs room which is probably for when I get children or something. Rune factory 2 doesn't even compare to this game in playability.

-----(Possible Spoilers)Upgrades from rune factory 1 and 2 so far-----

(1.) You can stack fish and items in 9's and throw even the fish on the ground without it vanishing.Spells and weapon skills no longer take up inventory space. They are in a separate section for convenience. The game is overall much more fluent and playable with many spells obtained through Yue in the upper floor of the "hot springs" on certain days.
(2.) Spears and hammers can hit with close proximity or from afar ( spears in RF2 were irritating to use. Hammers left you too exposed.)
(3.) There are many skills to raise pertaining to different spell types and weapons. Each type of weapon( dual blades, claymore, hammers, 1h sword, sheep fighting) can be leveled up individually allowing for charge attacks and combos specific to the weapon type.
(4.) Allies- You can have plants( pumpkin monsters etc), villagers, and monsters follow you into battle. The villagers can be leveled up increasing their appropriate stats. The witch girl uses a staff and her magic-modifying stats increases after leveling up through direct combat or a type of exp-share from your fighting. If the villager dies you can just go to another area, and the villager revives with minimal health which you can raise through food etc.
(5.) Death- You can't die in RF3. You get warped to the "clinic" with little consequences at first. After beating the first boss however, you lose all your hard-earned cash...Save often I guess.
(6.) Fishing- Fish are in plain sight again and Move towards your bobber. Many fish can bite at once making it less of a bore to fish since their is ample opportunities to get a catch. There is very unique fishing areas later in the game. Large fish such as lover snappers etc Can be caught with mainly luck. The tiny fish normally get hooked around the first bite while the huge fish normally go for the second bite. Try around and see what works for you.
(7.)Presentation- The artwork is incredible and the backgrounds are layered creating a realistic effect. The sound effects are well done also. All I am trying to do is verify that this game is definitely a good download and in my opinion RF2 was very irritating in many ways.I would rate this a 9/10. If it were in English i would give it a 10.
