  • This game is a action platformer I think, I heard that earlier games in the series gave you Hentai pictures at the end. I also heard that this game is extremely hard. If you like Hardcore platforming, here you go.

  • it's a remake from an very old playstation 1 game, i played it long time ago
    it was not bad. if you invest some time it can really be addicting

    Maybe you have the NDS/PSX Version ist the 2nd Story, the first story was released for the super nintendo

  • This is just old game remaked on DS, previously on PSP, and PS1, and lastly Super Famicom
    It's Not Hentai, the game got Rating CERO A (for Everyone) and it's not too hard to play this game

    You play a role of girl that transported to parallel world beyond human world and fish world
    you have a rod and your mission is to get outta there

    It's not easy, but really have quality of how platformer should be

    The game is a compilation of most umihara kawase game, really recommended to those who like platformer.

  • It's so not romulations fault it wasn't upped till 48 hours after release. It was just there was no copy they could upload until 48 hours later. For the same reason Nostalgia was just upped the other day and Atelier Annie still isn't. People have been slow ripping (although i think dumping is the 'official term') ds releases recently, especially the north american versions.

    As for this game itself, I've not played it and probably won't as I'm not big on platformers. Although the reverse trap is tempting...

  • An action puzzle platformer game, Umihara Kawase or in English called Umi's Odd Oddessey places a teenage girl whose world somehow transported to a fresh water world of fish where she only uses her fishing rod to hook on walls and those two legged fishes(LOL) to get by. This game expands around 50 levels and proves to be very challenging and difficult. Check out yubetube for some really crazy gameplay. For the DS, it's slightly better because you have the bottom screen as a map on the whole lookout for that particular stage. I think it's a great game although it's almost insane to propel yourself up with only a fishing line. Tested on R4 and working properly. A very original and artistic game worth downloading.

    5/10 = Controls
    7/10 = Graphics

    Overall = 7/10

    Yup, this game also available on the PSP and PSX.

    how long does it takes to upload to your own server when it just only 15 MB, and even after I requesting about 10-12 hour later the rom has just released which is just a little slow

    because they pay attention to certain news outlets that seem to think anything out of japan is 'hentai'. Also all anime and manga are porn, no exceptions. :p

    scores 5 on controls? That's not a good thing... But the high originality score, along with the reverse trap as mentioned in my last comment, intrigues me.

  • The controls can be a little bit akward given the sense that the shoulder buttons are not in use, for the PSP and PSX version, these shoulder buttons are very useful as they are used to grip walls and for double gripping action. This is also vital as the different angle of jumping and gripping technique vary accordingly to how your character is facing. Too bad for the NDS as the L and R buttons have been disabled, making it undoubtedly a nightmare to reach certain places with the fishing line:) LOL, this game has nothing to do with hentai whatsoever, if you are looking for things like that, you have found the wrong place:P Otherwise, this is still a great game!

  • I don't know if this is happening on other carts, I have the M3 Sakura softwere with the latest updates and the game seems to work... at first.

    After a death or two, the fishing bungee that you use stops sticking to anything. It doesn't even stick in the mini tutorial at the start of levels which of course will cause the game to freeze after she falls to her death in a tutorial when she's not supposed to.

    I loved this game, but it makes it hard to enjoy the remake when this happens...

    Anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

  • After playing it for some time, you are right, the grip just doesn't stick to any walls, at first I thought it was just a glitch but since someone has the same problem, is there any fixes for this?
    I don't know how to hex edit as stated, what should I do? Anyone kind enough to explain would be much appreciated.

  • Hex Editing (when your given a rom fix)

    1. Google "Hex Editor XVI32" and download the hex editor.

    2. Load the hex editor and open the rom in question.

    3.1 Select "Address" from the toolbar, then "Go to..."
    3.2 You'll get the same result from pressing Ctrl G

    4. It should already be checked, but make sure that under "Go to", that "hexadecimal" is checked. And make sure that under "Go mode", that "absolute" is checked.

    5. Now you get to use this information:

    00051599: 0C => 36
    000516F4: 10 => 11

    Just take the last 5 digits of the long number and type it into the box. In the case for this Umihara Kawase rom, it would be "51599".

    6. Click "OK" and you will be taken to a box with "0C" in it, which is why it is listed. You just have to type in "36" to replace the "0C".

    7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the second set of numbers (Ctrl+G, type "516F4", replace "10" with "11").

    8. When done, just save your rom and your finished. You may now enjoy an anti-piracy free game, fixed by yourself.

    This little Hex Edit tutorial cannot only be used by this game, but any game that people post a hex edit fix for.
