woah 143 mb. i hope this game would be good.
what is this?
an rpg type game, hopefully it'll be like the previous of the series (except for twin age) though most likely it wont be translated into english
The summon night series is usually an RPG about a young child or teenager (you can pick your gender) that somehow manages to summon a monster as a companion, usually somehow the monster was used by a parent
My heart skipped a beat when u saw this was up, I've been waiting for an amazing amount of time for tears crown, and you know what? I don't understand one spec of kanji, but i don't care. Welcome back to REAL summon night portable rpgs.
I'll report here after when I'm done with what happens.
Wishing i hadn't made a random username,
DSSeraph
I played summon night twin age. It was an enjoyable game, except for the fact that it was kind of repetetive near the end. You end up using your strongest abilities over and over again, but summoning monsters to fight was a cool feature. I may try this one out, but i'm not sure it would be that fun if I couldn't understand anything the characters were saying! Right now, i'm just hoping that Romulation gets Battlefront for DS today. If anyone knows about that, tell me! I'm a huge battlefront fan!
Unfortunantly twin age wasnt a real Summon night game, if your looking for that here you'll be dissipointed, or have great fun, either way...
Try the GBA versions of summon night, according to what the one of the above posters said, you'll get the feel for this one
Im downloading this one now in fact XD i just think its kinda sad that this probably wont be translated < <
FYI, for those that aren't hyped, Tears Crown is a fully voiced turn based rpg, not an rts. from what I've made out via video's and other sources the story centers around a prince and princess(of different nations?)and is a story of war, with a side romance between the two of them.
Yeah, I saw a few screenshots of the GBA version of summon night. Turn-based isn't really my thing, but i really did enojoy final fantasy grimoire of the rift. Certain games are just really addictive to me, no idea why. I think that summon night games are worth taking a chance on, though. Just watch, i'll end up downloading it... =D
It doesnt work in nocash, so hopefully it doesnt y'know, have a new piracy protection
also the GBA version isnt turn based... its realtime
2 things now, first of all, i wouldn't be surprised to see this localized, the only real reason swordcraft 3 wasn't was that the gba was dead by then.
Secondly... i'm a sad panda. it looks to have copyright protection.... the title screen just repeats itself over and over.
wow it really is summon night x!
thanx romulation!
um... by the way? any anti - piracy checks?
The game won't work after touching 'new game'. This keep returning to the original screen with title....please someone let me know the code for patch!!
your jumping the gun fearnor, this JUST came out a few hours ago. It'll be around a week before we see a working patch, be patient. I know i've waited a year for this, and i can wait another week.

Nice long PV for the game. Looks great =^.^=
The first two Summon Nights (Swordcraft Story 1
summon night... yeah, i remember playing them on the gba... these games rock... i sadly will have to wait for a localization and perhaps a patch, lolz.
but for those who understand japanese (or don't care bout story and stuff and can find a way around the supposed anti-piracy thingy) then this game is tops.
I got passed the start game title.
Im using AK2i with AKAIO 1.5 firmware
I really hope this is NOT like Twin Age, but rather like the earlier games in the series... With battles like in the 'Tales' games! I don't want another of those boring dungeon crawler action RPG games! >:(
a gaze mi seh
y all the summon nights only in jap like, there is only one for usa
noooo, they made it turnbased, didnt they? i loved the realtime battles of the GBA games, still play them on my PSP...
i found the patch for this game
link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GLZOQ22F
does it work on r4?
Wow... I can't believe it got dumped already.I'm gonna play it even though I can only understand a little~
this game is better than twin age!
its another freaking rpg
we already have
nostalgia (i just finished it)
dbz
ff gaiden
now this
they should really really really have an english version of this
(with japanese audio)
I hope they translate this, i already played both gba games and when i saw twin age, i was dissapointed. I hope this is like the gba Summon nights. And hopefully, they'll make an english version.
So far, I am liking the game and the artstyle, as for the story, I don't know about the story...I am not fluent in Japanese and I don't know how to read Katakana and Harigana pictograms. :(
If you are using ACEKARD with AKAIO 1.5; HOLD THE X BUTTON WHEN LOADING THE GAME TO USE OLD DMA (RED LOADING) OR YOUR SAVE DATA GOES AWAY!
I know that you can save
Well, I think it works great (and it's beautiful), and I can't read a letter (symbol?) in Japanese :D!
wooow, i must waiting for english version...
anyone going to translate this??
wooo tq romulation i have been waiting this game for a while now
Turn based games and me don't really match, but the trailer, it looks like a real anime. sadly there ain't gonna be a translation patch soon.
please tell me that there is an english version for this game!!
b'cause I love this game very much as I love
SMT
Why? Why can't they make a DS Summon Night with the same game play mechanics as the original two on GBA? I don't want a RTS, nor do I want a turn-based RPG, I want the original that I loved. Action RPG like Tales of Phantasia. Why do they have to explore EVERY genre? Just make them how they were originally loved!
FYI, the original Summon Night is a strategy game on the play station. But I do agree that the GBA Summon Night Swordcraft Story are the best.
i hope if there's the english version sooner. i HATE waiting! back to topic. i don't really like the gba version. random encounters are annoying. i like the twin age playing system.
i put the patch on but it still crashes when this guy talks
OH man went it will come out in english ! i fucking love this gAMEE
I love both prequels, so I'm sure I'll like this too, when it's English.
I haven't got to play the PlayStation version though, I'll be sure to check that one out as well. ^^
Its turn based
If this is anything like Twin Age/Edge this game Should instantly be A hit.
I sure hope this gets localized
Been waiting for this! Does any one know if the patch is necessary? Is it just the load screen that has an anti piracy block on it?
I would really hope someone would translate it to English T_T
Why on Earth do people think that Craft Sword Monogatari are the original Summon Night games? The original games were turn-based strategies ala FFT, and the first two even got ported to DS >.>
Because the REAL Summon Night never came out in English and thus it's not as well-known as the Swordcraft Story.
The original Summon Night is S-RPG like FFT.
The Swordcraft Story is what we all loved with Tales-like battle system, blacksmithing, and ENGLISH LOL
The Twin Age, and this "X" is a completely new series of Summon Night.
So there.
Still not a terribly good excuse, especially since even when released in the US they tacked on the subtitle to the Summon Night title.
Woah! I love summon night games. I'm downloading this. Thanks romulation!
Woah! I love summon night games. I'm downloading this. Thanks romulation!
Do you think they'll translate this? :<
ya summon night is back and this 1 seems 2 be super kool.....(twin age was total BS)the GBA summon nights were the boom...glad 2 c a good 1 back out....waiting 4 english version
Oh lawdie, I wish there were more Summon Night: Swordcraft Story games.
Such GREAT games, what with the crafting of weapons, the great story (Particularly 2) and Namco Tales battle system..
I played Twin Age and smashed the cartridge on the floor after the first 2 hours.
I couldn't care less if they left em in Japanese, i would MAKE DO.
Since some of you seem to not be aware of anything not released in the US, just FYI, there was a third Craft Sword that only came out in Japan~ Look up Summon Night Craft Sword Monogatari: Hajimari no Ishi if you want that >.>
Also, tried this ROM with the patch listed above (I think - I can't read Chinese in the least, assuming that's what the patch was in), doesn't work on R4.
@RykenInverse
i used the patch and worked perfectly. i copyed to the same folder of the patch and selected the rom, also drag and droped the same (patched (?)) rom on the patch. playing now ^^
ps. i use R4 1.18
What is "AK2i with AKAIO 1.5 firmware"?
Why couldn't I enter the game?...
yeah, i once finished playing that game on emu(Summon Night Craft Sword Monogatari: Hajimari no Ishi). I think its the best swordcraft game i ever played, because you can actually summon your summon creature and switch place with it (they can transform too).
I love the swordcrafting in the gba versions... they didnt have that in the twin age which is sad.. i hope in this one we can make sword XD
I hope NIS America is the one for the translation since they keep the JAP voices. Both Atlus' and Nisa's voice actings are absolutely BAD!
i like summon night.... i must waiting this game to english version
I'm getting very bored after playing through more than half the game...really boring and cliche story line with a rather un-original turn-based battling system. The story rather remind me of some old Tales story with Mana being the focus...
Basically all the story is in a nutshell is that there are two kingdoms, Selestia and Delutia. In order to maintain peace, the two kingdoms exchanged their own two sons to be held as hostages in the other kingdom. The prince from the kingdom Delutia, Dylan, and the princess from Selestia, Fara, became good friends as they grew up in Selestia. However, the day this treaty ended, when the two princes go back to their original kingdoms, Delutia invaded Selestia. Fara's older brother, the long-lost prince Noin, raised his sword against his own father and ended the king's life. Dylan rushed to the scene, abandoning his own kingdom, but was too late. Dylan then decides to fight alongside Fara for Selestia.
SPOILERS HERE
And basically, from here, we fight for Selestia and we find out that the evil mastermind is the advisor to the king of Delutia and he wants to get his hands on this white jewel in order to summon back the goddess that helped to create this world (I think). And a whole bunch of stuff about Mana and very Tales sounding stuff.
Very famous voice actors though, if anyone's interested...
The battle system is one of those summon ones sorta like Persona. You either just hit using your weapon, or you summon an equipped monster to fight with magic. Your summon beasts come with a variety of different techniques for you to develop. Also, there's the unison attack if you are good friends with one of your team members. Oh, yeah, and you have like 10 characters or something and you only need to use 4, I never use the other 6... And sometimes there's brave missions for you to clear that require you not to use items throughout the battle or stuff like that.
I think it's better to just wait for Golden Sun. But don't take my word for it.
PS Why is everyone obsessed with the swordcraft games? That is a totally different game than this. TOTALLY DIFFERENT. No swordcrafting, in this game, at all, period. No real-time battles either!!
but i'm still want it though you say all of that. keep waiting. . . .
Foooo
