The colours are off.
For instance, when you talk to someone, every non-character on the screen turns black and white. When you enter a room, the same thing. You can "fix" it though by having the black and white squares go off screen for a second (i.e.: if the very right squares are black/white and you go left then right, the squares will be coloured properly).
It's still playable though, and the only non-hacked version of the game I can find. Of course, I haven't gotten that far yet, so maybe the hacks don't come in until later and that's why the colours are distorted at times.
