Chrono Trigger DS Anti-Piracy Patch
« on: Friday November 21, 2008, 03:43:50 AM »
I figured this would be a good place to put this
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=3786

I also would like to note, that the patched rom WILL NOT work with the AKAIO firmware on the Acekard 2, for those of us that use the AKAIO firmware (such as I), the patch is just a trainer that inserts a few AR codes into the rom.  I would post the cheat.db that has it in there... but I forgot where I found it.  It's the ultimate cheat.db or something like that

hope this helps

Looks like a bit of a hassle, but thanks for the link.

I'll wait for the US version to come out first, and if it looks like its having the same issues, I'll go through the process of getting this patched version.

well it's definitely going to have the same issues, they're issues that were purposely put into place by squeenix, to prevent us from doing what we do.  So it's probably easier to grab the (j) version

neither do I, HOWEVER, all you do is set your system language to English, and the English version of the game plays on the (J) rom

Also the game is axactly like the 1st version on the snes, WTF ?

i thought it was gonna be completely defferent with the same graphics

no, it's a port of it, with some new features, and a re-translated script, and other minor changes, and then just use the action replay code if the patch is making your game freeze when it saves and whatnot.  That's what I'm doing because I wanna stick with the AKAIO firmware

Not on all flashcarts.

Check This, On Supercard DSONE (Slot1 Flashcard) YOu have to do this to get it to work

1 - Go and Patch the ( J ) Chrono Trigger. For the Patch Click HERE

2 - Slap The Patched Chrono Trigger into your Flashcard (How Ever you put your Roms into it DO that)

Note - These Following Steps are on The Supercard DSONE With your DS Turned on, Not your PC.

3 - DONT play the rom yet because it will freeze trying to save at the start saying "Initulizing the save, Please dont turn off" (Something around those lines)

4 - Highlight the Rom and on the Bottom Screen menu Touch "Set Patch"

5 - Now UnCheck "Patch Saver". then Touch the Save.

Now Play it and it will work.

yes on all carts. The game sets the language to whatever your DS's language is set to. So if your DS is set to English, it'll be English.

Reported with some DSTTs, and Acekard RPG. For this game specifically. And there's another one, I think it's R4 Pro, although that should work fine. That by default happens, but I'm sure you don't have every flashcart. And also not every J game has English.

As much as I tried to use the patch on my DS to get this J-rom to work (Acekard DOS) on my emulator, I figured better to wait until the game releases officially and get it then. It'll be up at least late Wednesday, early Thurs...nice way to start turkey day is with some CT.

The (U) rom is out :O
Does anyone have the same problems that they did before with (J)?

Yep. Same exact spot. Somehow, Squenix has found a way to keep the game from operating outside of a DS cartridge. Has ANYONE found a patch that works with Acekard 2, and could post how the HECK I am supposed to use it to get my US rom to work? 35 bucks is something I can't afford currently with holidays and all.

Apperent patched roms can ruin the flash card. I'm just running EDGE with Chrono Trigger (J) with an enabler gameshark code.

I'm running Chrono Trigger (U) with a code to bypass it. It's worked really well and hasn't messed up.

well my AK2 has a cheats folder. It has two cheat files under .DAT format. If I can find one that has the patch preprogrammed into it...I did find one supposedly called USR4.DAT. I tried the FIX code, and it hasn't worked.

You should be able to edit the .DAT files with R4CCE and add the code in.
