I love the game but I have a slight problem I can't save the game and when I died I had to play the game all over again from the beginning again
There should be a location/mechanism to save in-game. Do it before you reach that point in the game in case you need to retry. Not all game allows saving at any random point you want.
I intend to write this review without any spoilers, however, it is contains any of the sort, I apologize in advance. Radiant Historia is after the over 100 DS games I have played over the past few years, by far one of the most stunning and breathtaking pieces of perfection I have had the pleasure of running into. The storyline is beautifully crafted and the characters and their development are simply put, just amazing. Almost every single character in the story (playable and many of the sidecharacters) is driven by their own goals and intentions and is at the very least likable or relatable. The main character went from cool to one of my favorite characters in any DS game EVER. Pros: - An engaging storyline with amazing characters and wonderful art(imo) - A large amount of sidequests and minor alternative endings to be discovered and explored and different conclusions to the story. - A game hat can keep you occupied for days, if not weeks. (In my first playthrough where I wanted ALL the sidequests, possible endings and the most positive "ending" ending, despite frequently checking with the walkhrough, I had a playtime of over 45 hours. When doing this wihout he walkthrough allogether I assume it is a LOT more) - Brilo mentioned it before, the music scores are very well composed and work wonderfully with the story. - (may not be considered a pro by all, and may be a bit spoilerish) After having played the game for several days on end, exploring all the timelines and questlines and getting perhaps a little too attached to the characters, I may have wept non stop throughout the entirety of the final chapter. Reading every line out loud to help it sink in may have also not exactly helped to stop the tears from flowing. After the ending credits I simply sat there, crying, with that empty, sad yet satisfied feeling of having finished something good. Cons Now I totally loved this game, there are always a few points that could've been beter or "weren't ideal" - The battle mecanics such as Brilo mentioned can get a little repetitive. With few exeptions, most enemies can be taken down the same way and when trying to lvl your characters it can get a bit tedious(when picking he right opponents of the right difficulty it can be easy, but a bit boring). - (minor spoiler?) Now in the game they tell you "not to think about it too much", but the system of timetraveling and the effects on the other timeline are a bit hazy to say the least. None the less, it creates a lot of depth to the story I have rarely come across. My personal opinion, play it. Now! What are you waiting for?! HOWEVER!!! When I got the game from this site it caused a "loop" due to pirate protect (on my R4, newest wood). I got the patched version from another website, which works perfectly. (If you can't find it and also ran into the loop, feel free to message me if you want. Just don't expect too much from me.)
Chastelier, since you're praising so much this game, I have a question for you: did you also play Shin Megami Tensei, final fantasy, phantasy star and the world ends with you games before writing a poem for this game? If not, eliminate your message, try them, then tell me if something has changed i haven't played this game yet, I just wanna be sure you know what you are saying here about an rpg, since a 90% of them is really similar in content, plot (goddamn I'm tired of rpg plots, they're almost all like fairy tales for children, thanks SMT and TWEWY), and playing system.
Do you still have the anti piracy patch?
Very amazing game! Its a definite must-try game!
One of THE best Turn Based RPG's i have ever played. A Storyline is unique and incredibly involvng, Battle system is fun and allows for plenty of Strategy, sprite-based graphics are gorgeous and highly detailed for an nds game, and a lot of interesting soundtracks to listen to. A must play for all nds owners!
I'm surprised more people haven't tried this game. I agree with Stookymalarkey, it's an awesome RPG. I suggest that people just give it a shot - You can get a pretty good feel for whether it's your kind of game, after playing it for just a couple hours (or less). Other thoughts: * If you liked Chrono Trigger, you should love Radiant Historia. I say that mostly because of its plot and sidequests: You'll find yourself hopping through time and dimensions in order to get things done :3. * Radiant Historia has an incredible musical score - it sounds like real instruments, and most of the songs are quite pleasant. * Combat is turn-based and grid-based. * There's no random encounters. * The game has literally dozens of possible endings - and you'll likely encounter all of them in a single playthrough. I'm avoiding spoilers, so you'll just have to try the game to see what I mean by that :P. Don't worry, you'll see what I mean after you're just 2 or 3 hours into the game. * There are a bit too many enemy encounters for my taste. Just remember that you can run from most (non-boss) fights with no penalty - and you eventually get an invisibility skill that makes these battles 100% avoidable. * Combat tactics can get a little repetitive (cluster the enemies, then hit em hard).
it has good romantic scene, i guess...
An awesome RPG. One of the best of this generation, hands down. If you can't find yourself a legit copy, then go for this download.
