  • My favourite game of all time. had a sickening urge to play this just now, found the game, found my note book with previous plays hints in it, found my playstation, didnt find a play station 1 memory card... just my luck. so the next best thing, EMULATOR!! love you romulation. this game rocks most of the final fantasy games. and the card game is awesome, loved that, was dying to see a new card game similar to this in later FFs but none came, we got "blitzball" and other meaningless games. i hope FFXIII has a card game!!

  • This game runs best at epsxe 1.52. I started playing at epsxe 1.60 but it stuck and then I finished it at 1.52 without any problems. Try it!

The best Final Fantasy game on the PS one and possibly of all. A nice change of pace from the bleak and boring characters of FF7 & 8. Characters actually have unique moves, so they aren't just things to hold materia or espers. Definitely an awesome game

  • To all the people stuck on the airship (and everyone emulating PS for that matter), I have a great solution: STOP USING ePSXe. I know it's considered the best, and I'm not by any means saying it's bad, however I use pSX, and I have yet to have a problem on any game (including the airship sequence on this awesome game). It's a great emulator plus it doesn't rely on plugins so there is almost no configuration necessary. Just dump your BIOS and your good to go. FFIV is a great game, so play it on a great emu.

  • I like all of the ff games but u can't say that this is the best game on the ps
FFVII is the best game on ps of all times still and that's me being objective.

  • I've found an easy solution to the problem with the airship cutscene. The game crashed for me as well when the cutscene played, and I think there are similar situations in the other discs downloads. The solution is this:

If you're playing this on a console, when the cutscene starts open the disc tray when the scene starts but before it crashed and when the scene stalls close it again. This skips the cutscene, which means there's nothing to make it crash :) easy.

If using ePSXe (what I used when it crashed) go to the menu and 'Change Disc' to any file, it really doesn't matter what, and then quickly change back. Exact same effect as opening the disc tray on a console, it'll skip and you can continue playing ^_^

    Hope it helps!

  • FAvorite Final Fantasy GAME EVER!!!... well this one and FF Tactics..
wow can you say back to the classics... i believe i saw or read somewhere that some of the people who were behind the first original Final Fantasy games helped develop this one. This isn't like the other ones where you have to play a certain amount before you get hooked, when i play this one i seriously just dont want to stop... Its a good game!!

  • just use the psx for this one, plays better and you won't have a problem at the cutscene.

  • Yeah, the disc 1 works fine so far, just got stuck on the CG cutscene where the airship takes off in dali, but got past it by using psxeve, everything is ok

  • To all the people stuck at the airship, the solution is download ePSXE 1.52 and play the FMV on that version. after that, any time on the ship, use a savestate and reopen the game with ePSXE 1.60 (haven't tried 1.70) and load the savestate. You can also just keep playing on 1.52 if you like but ONCE YOU HAVE SAVED AT A MOOGLE AFTER THE FMV, DO NOT SWITCH EPSXE VERSIONS OR YOUR SAVED DATA WILL BE SET BACK TO THE LAST SAVE POINT BEFORE THE AISRHIP.
