i remember playing this back in 1997. Loved the game, the atmosphere, and the photo realistic worlds. they almost looked like you could reach within the game and touch them. as much as i liked riven in '97, i lacked the mind capacity to beat it. i was only 12 years old lol. i made it a long ways until i got to a puzzle i couldn't figure at and internet was in its infancy at the time, and i didn't have a computer. so no quick solutions for me. i didn't actually beat the game until mid 2k. i must say, even then, some of the puzzles still stumped me. myst, and its sequel were definitely games for thinkers but that didn't keep me from liking it. eventually i persevered, and beat it. i only used guides as a hint, just push me in the right direction. great game, and still stands the test of time.
beautiful 3d games
A beautiful game with some nice adventure elements. Be sure to check out realMYST, a 3d remake of the first game for the PC.
the photo realistic environments were something to behold when this game was released.
