Such as, the Demons don't level, the main Demon companion only levels when other demons are fused/sacrificed to it, and an overly complex menu system.

When i look at the fightable monsters in the game, many of them are VERY similar to the Demons from the Shin Megami Tensei series, i am not sure but this seems as if it is a bit of a spin off of that series.

Really enjoyable game. I suggest reading a bit more into it before you actually start playing, though. HINT: Use the Recruit option. LOTS. Also, the term "demons" is kinda misused in this game. The Japanese word for "demon" actually means something very different in their culture, if I'm correct.

Also note that this is a fantastical realm where Demons aren't truly evil. They are simply dark. Darkness is not evil.

Great game with a Digimon World DS battle engine. It a good game if you enjoy pokemon, digimon, and other games of that nature. PS Dark version is not for anyone who is extremely religious as in this game you follow the demon Lucifer
