Yeah i downloaded the japenese version but there was so much talking and i couldn't understand any of it.... the book system is intresting, but it really doesn't do much when your later in the game
Interesting... it's been a while since someone went innovative with games! at least it looks quite promising. i hope it doesn't lag like Rune Factory did!
I've just seen the gameplay video and I totally wowed! A real-time game with finalfantasy quality graphics and style! That's awsome ^^ The ds really needed this... There've been a lot of crappy releases lately, but this surely makes up a lot! Good to hear there are no piracy checks, I'd hate to miss this one. Actually thinking of buying it, but the eu release isn't here yet, so I guess that aint gonna happen. *mustn't... say... thanks romulation....* hehe, sorry, I'm kinda exited about this, get me hyperactive :P
If you want other opinions, 1up isn't really thrilled with the game: "As with so many boldly innovative games, Avalon proves that the main downside to new and untested ideas is that they've yet to be refined into something that works smoothly. There's a lot of quality content here for anyone with the patience to suffer through the clumsy implementation in which it's presented. Yet despite these incentives, Avalon ultimately feels like a promising prototype for a brilliant game that has yet to be created". C+ but i am downloading anyways :-)))) been waiting for this since...ever
I had the Japanese Version. I love the music tracks in this game. The gameplay seemsintresting. Try getting Gold Rank in every screen. You press the A button at places and youfind something of intrest. There is usualy a @p 0/1000. Each map in the game is a page in the book. Try to get @p1000/1000 on each page!
For those of you who do not know what avalon code plays like: "The Book of Prophecy is your main tool in the game. You travel around the world hitting every person, monster, plant, and weapon you see with the book. Once you hit something it gets a page in your book. On this page you can view basic information like health, attack points, and the object's code. An object's code is like its DNA only simpler. Once you have the thing's code you can change it. An example would be at one point in the adventure where you come across a writer who has an illness that makes him very weak. Once you hit him with your book you can see the part of his code that's making him sick. You can then remove that part of the code and attach it to an enemy's code to make every enemy of that type weaker. As soon as the piece of code is removed the writer suddenly has a miraculous recovery. It would also work with a weapon, such as a sword that, when used, poisons any enemy it touches." From Wikipedia
Awesome game and runs fine on No$Gba2.6 Only problem is that the text overlaps.
Spoken dialog, exellent graphics, original story and it has a zelda meets old final fantasy feel to it. i looks like i'm gonna waste a lot of time on this.
Sorry for my posted IGN-Rating - kind of ironic, posting such a mess after lamenting on senseless, spacefilling comments... However, for those who are too lazy to check ign.com: Avalon Code Review (IGN) Presentation: 8.0 A cinematic action RPG with a few interface issues. Graphics: 9.0 The world of Avalon Code is rendered in beautiful 3D. Impressive vistas are waiting around every corner. Sound: 8.5 A memorable orchestral soundtrack and a good amount of voice acting. Gameplay: 8.0 The Book of Prohecy provides a compelling game mechanic, but a couple of control issues pop up here and there. Lasting Apeal: 8.0 There is a lengthy 20+ hour storyline to follow and the pacing surprises the playerat regular intervals. Overall: 8.3 Impressive
The system used in this game is awsome and now that its in english it will be easier for us to understand rather than spending hours stuck on one bit. Overall good game and no anti piracy measures "If at first you don't succed you fail."
It's a fun and detailed game, so if you like messing around with a lot of codes it's great. I love the relationship aspect as well. :)
Sweet, no piracy measures. I read reviews on review sites, I only check the messages here to see if there is anything extra I need to do to play...that's what these boards are great for.
