Yea I noticed that too, graphics in carbon were way much better than this.... not only the cars but even the environment!
anyway, the game is great compared to the old need for speeds (except carbon) and you can also play online =]

The graphics compared to Carbon - own the city are unbleievably ugly, just terrible(think of superman64) but guess what - they've made free roaming O_o Finally you can go through the city any way you want and there's even some traffic and cops chase you. Impressive!
