Apparently the problem applies to flash carts, CycloDS and AceKard is confirmed working so far.

I read elsewhere that people using R4DS flash cartridges have to update their firmware to the latest version (v1.16) for this to work.

Yeah, might not be worth it if I have to reload every 5-10 minutes. Maybe someone will come along and crack it. but then pirates can't be choosers.
